Red Skelton

Happy Holidays to all my friends, I will be absent until after the first of the year.

About Me

Red Skelton was born Richard Bernard Skelton nicknamed “Red” of course. His father was a Hagenbeck-Wallace Circus clown who unfortunately passed away right after Red was born. Red began his entertainment career by following in his fathers footsteps. He was a circus clown in his teens before heading to Vaudeville. By age 15 he was working full time as a performer.
"If someday you're not feeling well, you should remember some little thing I've done, and if it brings a smile to your face or a chuckle to your heart, then my purpose as a clown has been fulfilled."
"I don't want to be called 'the greatest' or 'one of the greatest,'" he said once. "Let other guys claim to be the best. I just want to be known as a clown because to me, that's the height of my profession. It means you can do everything -- sing, dance and, above all, make people laugh."

Thanks for the Video Nisaba You are a Doll.

I'd like to meet:

Anyone who is interested in Red Skelton, old time entertainers, or anyone for that matter who has traditional values. If you are someone selling webcam photos or just trying to promote your band please don't ask for a friend request. I am perfectly glad to support other entertainers but unless your band is completely uncontroversial, I really do not want to add you to my friend list. Red Skelton believed heavily in traditional values and I do not think i would doing him justice if I created a fan site that did not support the same ideals.

My Top Friends ListI want all of you to know that with the exception of my two favorite Redheads, my top friends are placed aesthetically. Please forgive me for showing favoritism to Laine and Lucy but they were the lovely ladies who showed me a very warm welcome when I first created this page. Even in that placement there is aesthetic placement as they are facing each other which helps maintain focus on the center. This is coupled with the fact that I could never choose between the two for the top spot (Hey I am honest). But I especially want the rest of you that the list is not arranged in order of value and importance. You are all equally great friends and I have placed you in an order that appeals to my artistic eye. I would like to consider my top friends as a compilation of good friends rather than a ranking. I love all you folks and I want nothing but good things for all of you.
