My proper name is Haephestas. My family calls me Heffy. I started out in life as a barn cat at Equistar, a therapeutic riding center for persons with emotional and physical challenges. My human sister, Becky(she's 25), decided I could be a city cat, so she took me home to her family. That was 9 years ago, and I've pretty well settled into my life here. I have an older "sister" named Xenophon, who would be much more aptly named Miss Priss. She is crabby. I guess it's some consolation that she doesn't like anyone, so I don't let it bother me. There's a dog here now they call Mac. He's a big yellow dog and he pretty much likes everyone and everything. He used to go to his Grandpa Newt's every day, so I'd walk him up and back. I'd like to stay at Newt's, but he must only provide dog daycare, because they never invite us cats. Becky moved back home from college a couple of years ago and now she lives with Grandpa Newt.
My mom, who likes to be called Barb, claims Xen as her cat, but she puts my name on everything, including her ebay account. I don't mind, it gives me a lot more publicity and exposure than I'd ever get on my own. She thinks my life is simple (she has no idea), so that's why she likes it. She wants to start selling on ebay because she isn't able to work like she used to anymore since she takes care of Newt every day. She's kinda scared, but with the help she has, including all of the family, she should do fine. She leans on the love of her life, Charlie, a lot.
