Dear Visitor!
Thanks a lot for looking at my Profile.
I was born 1972 in Leipzig and now live in Quohren, a very small village near Dresden.
I work in various musical fields: as a composer for films and drama, as a solo performer (electric guitar and loop machines), as a (to some extent former) member of "Sand", "Forkefeld", "Steelharmonie", "Johann the Baldrian Bass", "Sternorchester Quohren" and the "Dresden Guitar Circle", as a producer for radio drama, as a teacher, as a soundengineer/sounddesigner in my own studio - and sometimes as a farmer.
The life in the countryside, my parents, family & friends and the beautiful city of Dresden have a great influence on me.
Musically and generally speaking, too, "Guitar Craft" is strongly connected to my life and I appreciate a lot, what I learned there (thanks to Robert, Christian, Frank, Luciano, Fernando, Bert, Martin and many others!)
Moreover, I studied composition for 5 years, with Prof. Rainer Lischka at the Dresden Conservatory, and I had several other teachers, of whom I learned a lot.
And since I work with filmproducers/ directors/cutters, they also influence me in different ways.
There are some musicians I want to name here, who are very important for me:
Robert Fripp, Brian Eno, Arvo Pärth, Steve Reich, Bela Bartok, Johann Sebastian Bach, Fred Frith, Iva Bitova, Pj Harvey, Kaki King, Tortoise, Tom Waits, Philip Sarde, Goran Bregovic, Ennio Morricone, Robert Wyatt, Steve Albini, Tool, King Crimson, Paul Hindemith, Eric Satie, Christian de Santis, Fernando Kabusacki, Eric Visser, Silly, Frank Zappa, Bert Lams.
I am also very happy to know and appreciate some musicians around here, close to where I live, with whom I could and can sometimes play:
Karina Bellmann, (listen to martinka & energie) Friedemann Seidlitz (listen to Gymnopedie & Gnossienne), Andreas Scotty Böttcher, Luis Araya, Jan Heinke, Matthias Macht, Ronny Noack, Sebastian Lohse, Matthias Petzold, Rudi Moser, Bob Ruthman, Leander Reininghaus, Peter Andreas and Christian de Santis.
Besides all these, I am definitely influenced by movies, I think Tarkowski is one of the greatest directors ever.
But we have so many good movies here on this planet that I will just name one: "The Garden/Der Garten/Záhrada" by Martin Sulik, a czech movie from 1995.
I am here, because I want to show the world who I am and what I do.
But the true reason is: I want to get to know other musicians and their work.
Myspace is sometimes like a treasure box you've been digging for - and I hope to be digging out some more real treasures here...
