About Me

Animal Rights Collective of Halifax (ARCH)is a non-profit volunteer based group who advocate the abolition of animal use in our society. In other words, we advocate a vegan lifestyle. We've been an active group in Halifax for almost 10 years. Check our website for past, present, and future campaigns - www.archalifax.com

My Interests

"Never doubt that a small group of thoughtful, concerned citizens can change the world. Indeed, it is the only thing that ever has." ~Margaret Mead

I'd like to meet:

Anyone thinking of becoming vegetarian, vegan, interested in other AR issues, or already working on AR issues.

Music:

I can't speak for everyone in the group but you owe it to yourself to check out Rufus Wainwright. He's not from this planet. Oh, and The Heavy Blinkers from Halifax kick ass, too.

Movies:

Earthlings - Watch it here!

The Truth about Canada's Egg Industry. All 24 commercial egg farms in Nova Scotia are battery facilities like the one in this video. Go vegan and end the suffering of all animals!

It's all a matter of perspective. This is a Peta ad for fur.

Television:

Do you still eat meat? Meet your Meat:

This was created for someone's oral communications class. This person got 100%.

Why did the state of California, city of Chicago, and coutries such as Switzerland ban Foie Gras? Watch this 5 minute video about force feeding ducks and geese until they get the fatty liver disease called foie gras.

"Hunting is not a sport. In a sport, both sides should know they're in the game." ~Paul Rodriguez

These are discarded male chicks from the egg industry. Male chicks are considered useless because they don't lay eggs, they are thrown into plastic bags or dumpsters. Some of them are still alive. One more reason to go vegan!

Don't breed or buy while homeless animals die! Adopt from shelters only!!! Puppy mills like this one exist in Nova Scotia. Where do you think Pets Unlimited get their dogs?

Books:

Animal Liberation by Peter Singer,Free the Animals by Ingrid Newkirk,Diet for a New America by John Robbins,Next of Kin by Roger Fouts

Heroes:

All vegans and grass roots activists!
