PLEASE CHECK OUT THE ANIMAL RIGHTS COALITION WEBLOG "CIRCLE OF COMPASSION" BY ARC VOLUNTEER COLLEEN!!! SHE DOES A GREAT AT KEEPING YOU UPDATED ON THE CURRENT AFFAIRS AND INFORMATION AT THE ANIMAL RIGHTS COALITION. THANKS COLLEEN!!!"Hello. My name is Colleen and I'm an ARC member and the author of the Circle Of Compassion ARC Blog. I am so excited about the opportunity to share my thoughts with you and promote the mission and message of the ARC. I am hope, hope, hoping that you will share your thoughts with us as well. In case you didn't see it on our website, ARC's mission is to end the suffering, abuse, and exploitation of non-human animals through information, education, and advocacy. I hope this blog can be a place to exchange ideas and information in the fight to end animal suffering. The more we can share our thoughts and band together, the stronger our voice will become and the closer we come to putting a stop to the cruel and inhumane ways animals are treated.I became interested in animal rights about three years ago, when several of my friends and loved ones informed me about the horrors of factory farming. After watching the video "Meet your meat," and doing some of my own research about factory farming, I quickly gave up eating meat. The more I learned about our industrialized food industry and the way animals are treated as machines - with no regard to their suffering or welfare - I gave up eating, wearing, and using any animal products at all. To be quite honest, it was really quite easy!! I also became involved in ARC and other advocacy projects.ARC is just one of many animal welfare organizations you can get involved in. But, do you know what the best part about helping animals is? You don't always have to look to a group to get involved. There are plenty of things that anyone can do, right in his/her own backyard. Like this little story, that proves even the smallest gestures of compassion can make a difference in the lives of animals. It sure made a difference to this little duck! What are some ways that you have helped animals? I'd love to hear your stories."PLEASE CLICK HERE TO READ COLLEENS BLOG!!!
