The popular FM broadcast/simulcast (named as part of "The Best of L.A." by Los Angeles magazine in 2006) was cancelled by the station’s management, upon learning the show is headed for syndication. (Actually, the station knew for 2 years that it was coming, so go figure...) ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ SUBMISSION GUIDELINES As you can imagine, we’re overwhelmed with CDs by artists from all over the world, & as much as we’d like to support everyone, it’s really impossible. If you’re an artist looking for airplay, we had been asking that you PLEASE LISTEN TO THE SHOW FIRST! For now, CAREFULLY read the following, and contact us if you think your music is a good "fit." “Tied to the Tracks” is the only ACOUSTIC Americana radio show originating from Los Angeles. Yep, acoustic / rootsy, & our listeners are eclectic (NOT electric). If you send a death-punk-metal-electronica CD to us with one acoustic guitar cut, odds are we’ll pass. Even country rockers sometimes get upset that we can’t use their material. That means, for example, blues on a National and bluegrass on a Martin are fine, blues or bluegrass (or whatever) on a Strat are not. So, when you send a CD to us, here’s the deal: 1) Please, e-mail and ask for the mailing address. DO NOT throw something in the mail to the show’s former radio station, because we will NOT receive it that way. 2) Regular CD’s only please, no Mp3s or burned demos. This is important because we want to be sure our listeners are able to buy your music someplace, & we want to help support your sales too! 3) Include a post-it note with tracks you think would fit our format the best, and your “one-sheet” so we can tell listeners about you and your music. And since you can’t listen to the show a couple of times before submitting, right now, PLEASE read all the points here. 4) Let us know if you’re playing anytime in the greater Los Angeles area. Tying airplay to your gigs is an important way to promote both you and your music, and we make every effort to do that! 5) We need you to ask before submitting, mostly because posting a mailing address is too much of an invitation to get blasted with who-knows-what in the snail mailbox. Sometimes DJs, Program Directors & mailing addresses change anyway, (like ours did) and we want to be sure we’re looking out for your stuff. And, sometimes things really do get lost in the mail, so if we know when you sent it, we know when to look. Sorry, nothing can be returned, & we cannot promise to play everything we get. But if we do play your music and you stay in touch, we’ll do our best to let ya know!
