About Me

Here's a page devoted to my music. I don't know that I'd go so far as to say I'm a full-blown musician in the traditional sense of the word; I rather see myself simply as a guy who took up his first musical instrument 2 years ago and has been winging it ever since. I'm primarily self-taught, with a few pointers from folks here and there. I've played live before an audience and recorded a few songs, so I guess I'm faking it pretty well.
I originally took up the ukulele when my twins were still in the womb. I wanted to be able to play and sing for them, and I wanted them to grow up in a house that was always full of music.
The first song that inspired me to choose the ukulele as my instrument of choice was "The Cowboy Song" as sung by Tom Hanks in the movie "Joe vs. the Volcano". It was the first song I learned to play, and I've made a recording of it that you can hear right here (link is in the blog).
When I'm not playing ukulele I write short stories and graphic novels, some of which have been published . I can usually be found playing songs at comic book conventions, busking for the crowd as I sell my books.
I've recently started writing my own songs and recording demos of them. I'll put up more clips and links in the blog as I get around to making new ones.
I hope you enjoy, and let me know if you do or don't. I welcome feedback on my playing, arranging, singing and whatever else you'd like to comment on.
Cheers and Mahalo.

Open Mic at Muddy Waters is a great time.

Tonight I played an open mic at Muddy Waters, a little coffee-shop-slash-pub downtown. I was surprised at the good turnout considering it's such a stormy, cold and rainy night. But it was a great time...
