The Latest GBA News:
Since the beginning of the year we've been changing drummers like Snoop Dogg hits switches. Our drummer Chris left the band in April siting personal issues in his life and a need to handle them. We were sorry to see him go and wish him all the best in the future. Mychael, our drummer for the 3 years prior to Chris, came back from Texas to help us through the Colorado tour and Las Vegas homecoming show at Jillians. He has since returned home. In May we began working with our newest drummer, Billy, who also in another local band called Unlawful Assembly. So Far he is working out great and we are stoked for everyone to see and hear our new line up at our next show with Guttermouth (Ice House July 11). Thanks to all the great people who have been contacting us about upcoming shows. We will be touring again soon.
Bio:
After 7 years and well over 160 gigs behind them, Guilty by Association is going stronger than ever, brandishing their raucous blend of punk and hardcore rock all over the western US and having a blast every step of the way. When Guilty by Association plays a gig, anything can happen. Often times their live show becomes a madhouse of mosh pits and beer showers seemingly unnoticed by the band as they burn through song after song. As a result, they have developed a fan base that is as loyal as it is extensive and diverse. No matter what city or venue, their focus has always been on making each show a good time for all. Now wrapping up the tour in support of their first full length release entitled Detox, they are turning their focus from their live show to writing for their next CD. They are slated to go into the studio again in summer 2008.
Over the past few years, theyve been lucky enough to play with some of their biggest influences in punk rock like D.I. , Dead Kennedys, FEAR, Guttermouth, the Dwarves, Agent Orange, Angry Samoans, Exploited, Voodoo Glow Skulls, Sham 69 and Circle Jerks. They have also been featured on compilation CDs such as Afternoon Records Sniffin Glue: A Las Vegas Tribute to the Ramones and Face First Records Break Your Face as well as DVDs like Apex films the Revolution and dirtcore.net Beneath the wheel. They have self produced and released their first CD and a 7" vinyl as well under their self propelled label Public Nuisance Reccords. In August of 2007 Guilty by Association entered the Amplify Music Competition Festival and placed 6th out of almost 100 bands transcending all styles of music from all over the country.
Although heavily influenced by punk rock, Guilty by Association is not your traditional punk band. Each member comes from a different musical background allowing them to bring their respective influences together while still satisfying their collective interest in fast, unapologetic punk music. As a result their songs are eclectic, layering punk riffs with catchy rock vocal hooks and hardcore metal-infused guitar & percussion; all delivered at a relentless pace. In the short time they’ve been together, these five unique musicians have created an uncommon bond with one common thread; the drive and ability to play music that gets you off your ass and into the pit….this is Guilty by Association.
