About Me

..
..The Harmony Project, Inc. is a nonprofit organization connecting those who need with those who have. Our primary mission includes helping individuals, families, and nonprofit organizations connect with the empowerment resources they need to survive, succeed, and maintain self-sufficiency. Too often, families in crisis just need to be pointed toward the resources they need to keep from spiraling downward. This brick wall is symbolic of the many times we often find ourselves in that place where it seems there's nowhere to turn...when all we really need to do is look up and be encouraged. We're not about enabling negative behaviors. We help people help themselves and encourage them to reach their greatest potential by reducing access barriers and putting empowerment resources within reach. We encourage people to volunteer or replenish the resources they've used once their circumstance improves. The Harmony Project, Inc has established the following priorities: (1) Services for Families in Crisis -- We define crisis as any circumstance that temporarily hinders a person from taking care of their basic needs. We either help directly or make referrals in our compassion network. We answer our phone 24/7 while the rest of the world sleeps. (2) Services for other nonprofits -- We assist individuals with starting new nonprofits or by helping established nonprofits succeed and connect with the capacity-building and sustainability resources they need. (3)Microenterprise Typing Services -- We provide opportunities for homeless and disadvantaged persons to get desktop publishing training and stipends for their skills. Call us the next time you need brochures, flyers, funeral programs, church bulletins, custom greeting cards, award certificates, letters, reports, special event programs, and other typing jobs.(4) Services for children of prison inmates -- We sponsor a PFM Angel Tree to provide Christmas gifts for children of prison inmates. We serve as mentors and host fun activities for the children throughout the year, giving them opportunities to just be kids. (5) Positive Circles Day Camp -- For girls and guys age 6-16. Focuses on building positive self-esteem, multi-cultural awareness, anger management, avoiding negative peer pressure and bullying, character education, community service and compassion. (6) Directory of Compassion -- Serves as a nonprofit empowerment referral resource listing organizations who are committed to sharing their heart of compassion. (7) Empowerment Seminars -- We offer unique hands-on empowerment seminars to the general public or specific to the needs of your organization on topics such as Compassion, Nonprofit survival basics, Grantwriting Boot Camp, Nonprofit Capacity-Building, Networking and Building Multi-Sector Partnerships, Motivating Your Staff and Volunteers, or a topic that you may suggest. Our compassion is contagious and spreading globally like a wildfire with an eternal flame that can never be extinguished. We are strengthening the common thread among positive people all over the world who either share their hearts of compassion already, or desire to do so. We've come to know that we may be different on many levels, but when we step beyond our differences....We are quite similar when it comes to love and compassion. Sometimes the heart sees much more than the eyes will ever see. We're not guessing about the needs of people in crisis, we happen to know first-hand from our own life experiences. The Harmony Project, Inc. was founded by my family when we were in a place of complete nothingness, brokenness and homelessness. One Sunday, Pastor Doug stood in the offering basket and said "When you think you have nothing to give...give of yourself". Those words changed me forever from the inside out. The next week, using a donation that Pastor Doug had given our family, The Harmony Project, Inc. was incorporated. In lieu of the life-long pity party, we chose to share ourselves with others. We are forever works in progress, but that doesn't hinder us from blessing others as we are blessed.Positive Circles Day Camp is an exciting camp for girls and guys age 6-16 that we sponsor each summer. The 2007 camp was a blast! There are tons of photos in our slide shows and a cool little video of the children in action. We utilize age-appropriate training activities, cool Bible stories, puppets, arts, games, creative writing, role play and community service projects to stimulate a life-long learning process. Positive Circles Day Camp focuses on building positive self-esteem, anger management, multi-cultural awareness, avoiding negative peer pressure and bullying, character education, community service and compassion. We already have children enrolled for summer 2008. The camp dates are May 27 - August 8, 2008 (Monday - Friday 7:30am - 5:00pm). Enroll the entire summer, weekly, or daily. Registration fee is only $150 for any 21 consecutive or random days of attendance. Or enroll and pay $45 per week or $10 per day to fit your family's summer schedule. If you or your organization would like to sponsor a scholarship to enable a less fortunate child to attend our camp, please contact us for details. The Harmony Project, Inc is sharing its heart of compassion

My Interests

Are you finally ready to incorporate a nonprofit organization? You've identified a need in your community and you're ready to fulfill that need...right? It’s time to turn those ideas into reality. Someone in your community is counting on your heart of compassion. We’d be honored to assist you. Our fees will always remain low because we prefer to see you use more of your resources toward direct service. Our yearly nonprofit service package gets your nonprofit incorporated in any state; provides your very own consultant; and allows us to complete your Articles of Incorporation, nonprofit bylaws; your 501(c)(3) tax-exempt application; get you an EIN and DUNS number; and provide unlimited grant funding search (that’s right...money for your project); and project monitoring and evaluation to make sure your reports to funding sources are done in a timely manner. We can get you started today and even offer easy installment terms if that would help you move forward with your ideas. Keep in mind, we're nonprofit too.
Through our MicroEnterprise component, we enhance job skills of homeless and formerly homeless individuals striving for self-sufficiency. Some of our program participants are exiting local homeless shelters trying to make a fresh start. So please contact us the next time you need brochures, flyers, funeral programs, church bulletins, custom greeting cards, award certificates, letters, reports, special event programs, and other typing and desktop publishing jobs. Some of our projects have included providing food and donations to Community Breadbasket Food Pantry for needy families; donating personal hygiene items, toys, socks, gloves, and pajamas to local homeless shelters and disadvantaged families; providing resources and referrals to victims of domestic violence and abuse; inviting homeless children to our Positive Circles Day Camp; Hosting seminars and workshops on empowerment, poverty, compassion, self-sufficiency, and life skills; providing books, holiday gifts, activities, and resources for children of prison inmates. ..
