Abramz

Iam a Ugandan conscious Hiphop artiste from the rap duo "Sylvester & Abramz". Which happens to be one Uganda's illest Hiphop acts. Me & my brother Sylvester started rapping in 1992. Some of my inspirations were A tribe called Quest,Public Enemy,Big Daddy Kane,De la soul,Brand Nubian,Chubb Rock,Philly Bongoley Lutaaya (the first Ugandan to rap in Luganda) to mention but a few. "Sylvester & Abramz" is a voice that speaks for the people on the ground plus enpowering them in many different ways using Hiphop as a tool. We rap in 2 languages that's Luganda (our mother tongue) & English.Iam also a dance teacher in Breakdance project Uganda, a project that uses breakdance & Hiphop for positive social change. I am the director of this whole project & one of the founders.I also teach dancing in an NGO called "In Movement" which works with disadvantaged children.For those who have been attending Hiphop nights in Kampala, UG plus the 2nd & 3rd Hiphop summits, Iam the host that you've always been seeing up on stage & one of the organisers aswel.HERE'S A VIDEO OF THE "HIPHOP THERAPY PROJECT" IN GULU (NORTHERN UGANDA) AT H.E.A.L.S. We also teach these children how to create their own break-beats & Hiphop beats using traditional drums. So all the druming & beat-boxing that you hear in these video clips were done by these kids.Another one of me with the from H.E.A.L.S Gulu. You should all meet these children. They're soo amazing.
