And what did he hear as he leaned forward in the chair, palms pressed together
in concentration and deep thought?"Here Come The Warm Jets" could be heard drifting from the speakers and a
seed was sown in the twelve-year old mind. Lizards crawled into (and out
of) the wall and M.C. Escher and Salvador Dali fired his imagination. The young man fell asleep and heard "Telstar" (Why can't all songs be fast?).Later, in this dream the pounding of drums was heard and suddenly he was
carried upon this rhythm over different lands and seas. After many
tribulations he found himself sat at a circular table in a large room with
nebulous figures sat opposite and around, their faces hidden and their
conversation not quite discernible because of the unidentifiable foreign sounds emerging from the ether.Suddenly one of the shadowy figures, turned towards him and said quietly, yet with conviction…â€Sex Pistolsâ€.At that moment the voices stopped and the figures turned to look at him in silence. He sensed that it was time to go.It was 1979 (Or thereabouts) and The Dead Man’s Radio played it’s final tune. He was playing New Wave Music. 1981: it was time to move on and a new formation beckoned. 1982: The cool blue dreaming of the pre-Madchester Hacienda was a source of inspiration where one could imagine David Bowie’s Berlin and Eno’s soundscapes and dance in Industrial Electronic Ecstasy without worrying about getting shot. 1983: Red Turns To... An Electronic duo released one 12†single on Factory Records. 1987: Gone To Earth. 1988. Reality beckoned – his soul was regenerated and renewed. This was something that deserved further investigation. Forward to 2006: The Sandells – Dreamscapes and mesmeric sound pictures; also playing gigs with the legendary Damo Suzuki, formerly of Can, as part of his band and playing gigs supporting The Fall. 2007: A natural progression, new music, new structures. Logic will have her way, as will love, as will the elements, as will the muse. There will soon be opportunities to share this new music. And we shall hear it together...I am extremely proud to announce that I have joined Manchester Band Dovestone as Lead Guitarist...let us dance and let us dream...
