Greetings. I am an international producer of anime (cartoons). I have produce many shows and movies, mostly for younger viewers. This myspace page is for a new show that my boss has 'tricked' me into making. It is titled Joe is Japanese and is about the (mostly) true stories of a man growing up between two cultures. It has become the first production that I have done that:
1. I am enjoying and proud of
2. having fun making.
I hope it finds an audience. Thank you for visiting. I live in Ikebukuro, Tokyo but have been traveling a lot working on this new project "Joe is Japanese." It is a (mostly) true story about a half-Japanese guy named Joe McCunney, but is really a show about good friends that are not being accepted by social circles. I have a hard time explaining, it is best to visit other myspace pages for show to learn more.Anime coming soon: Joe isJapanese
This is an image of Joe and I having a drink. I am hearing a story about his friend Kenji.
I am starting to feel akward about what he is telling me...
His (ex)friend Kenji crippled a kid in highschool by twisting his leg 360 degrees.
Here's what the part of the story he's telling me looks like in the anime. The animators weren't done with the scene yet, but this should give you an idea how graphically Joe described the story to me.
Joe went on to discribe the scars Kenji had all over his body. Pretty dark stuff... I wish Joe could be less graphic.
"I only understand about 50% of what he's saying."
-what I told the NHK news crew interviewing me and the Island Masta
Party Roppongi, party! I never used to go to club, or stay out and miss the trains... now I stay out and have to catch the 6am trains far too often now that I know Joe.
I never used to be like this. Joe changed everything. Maybe for the better. Don't know yet...
I'm not sure if these stories should be told.
I have my reservations...
You can pick friends but can't pick your friend's noses, right?
You can visit this site to watch the anime soon, if you are wondering what I am talking about on my page: http://www.joeisjapanese.com
