MY FIRST EXPERIENCE DRIFTING...
My first experience DRIFTING was on a Touge run almost 3 years ago in Hidden Valley, CA... a little north of San Diego... a couple friends of mine introduced me to the sport... and the rest was history... That's how I got into it... This "space" of mine is dedicated to the IMPORT SCENE and to the art and sport of DRIFT... and to those who are just entering this sport, WELCOME! ... let's all educate each other with the knowledge of DRIFTING AND RACING... Remember to be safe everyone and to try and keep it on the track!!!
WHAT IS DRIFTING?
Drifting is a high-skill level motorsport in which drivers control a car while it slides from side to side at high speed through a marked course. It is similar to rally racing, but is done on a closed, paved course and judged on execution and style rather than just who finishes the fastest. Drift cars are typically smaller, lightweight, and rear-wheel-drive. The goal is to apply enough power to the rear wheels to break the tires' traction and initiate a slide, or "drift." Once a drift is initiated, it must be maintained through the turn using a precise balance of power, braking and steering.
To the uninitiated it's a wild display of controlled chaos. But when professionally executed, a drifting vehicle is a thing of beauty and grace not unlike figure skating (albeit much faster and louder).
WHAT'S JDM STAND FOR?
JAPANESE DOMESTIC MARKET... This pertains to anything, and possibly everything that has to do with Japanese imported vehicles, of course with the few exception of their American performance aftermarket counterparts. JDM mainly focuses on parts made and sold in Japan. With the growth and demand for JDM parts, scores of autoshops have been trying to meet the demand in the US. With that in mind, PLEASE!!!
