The SSR Mark III wheel is one of the freshest wheel designs in the history of wheels. Introduced by Speed Star Racing as one of their premier 3-piece racing wheels in the 1970s, it quickly became a hit with racers and car customizers in Japan. The SSR Mk-III has special significance to Cipher Garage, because the first pair of 14x8 wheels that we were able to get from Japan was a pair of used SSR Mk-III wheels. This pair of wheels made its way onto the Cipher Garage kouki AE86 for display at the SEMA Show in Nov 2000.

Cipher Garage zenki 86 at the Japanese Classic Carshow. "The lip on my front wheels is fatter than the lip on your rear wheels!" No fender gap, just polished outer lips on my Work Equip 01s. I found these bolted onto an AE86 which was rotting away in Satoru san's backyard in Ibaragi. Best thing I bought in Japan this year. RIP Satoru san. He certainly lived the 86 life.

Music is the growl of the TVIS opening on a bluetop 4AG engine. Music is the sound of a tuned 4AG singing loudly at 7800rpm. Music is the menacing growl of Mikuni twin carbs on a 2TG engine at wide open throttle.
Music is even the reverberations of a TRD shifter rattling in a T50 tranny at high rpm. We love every single sound that is AE86. (EXCEPT the annoying ass beep on a zenki 86 when you put the key in the ignition! WTF!)
Other than that, we are all about bumping 70s soul, jazz, roller disco, classic rock, and funk joints in the mango, and 80s hip hop, soul, funk, and reggae in the 86. Wordup.
