Drift 411 was started in September of 2003 as a way of connecting with other drifters in our area. We follow grassroots drifting events all along the East Coast from New Jersey to Georgia.

With the help from our members we also have coverage from the East to West coast and across the oceans to New Zealand and Australia to Europe and Japan!

We offer a free image hosting in our gallery, free member garage, and a free arcade to all members as well as a conprehensive calendar. Our calendar list events from all over the country as well as the world and anyone can post up their event with all the details and have it get 30,000 hits a day!

We are not trying to profit from drifting, we are simply fans of the sport and want everyone to have a place to come together and get information in their areas about it.So join the community now! It's free!

What is Drifting?
Drifting refers either to a driving technique utilizing a difference in slip angle between the front and rear tires of a car, or to a sport based on the technique. When the rear wheels are slipping at a greater angle than the front wheels, the car is drifting, or "power-sliding". The rear end of the car appears to chase the front end around a turn; the driver utilizes both front tires and the rear tires to control the actual direction of the car. More throttle induces more rear wheel slip angle and the rear of the car wants to overtake the front. The goal is for the driver to achieve opposite lock and use the throttle to fine tune the car's angle and direction.
