About Me

Born in Chicago in 1912, I am the organization which publishes the oldest monthly devoted to verse, Poetry magazine.

PoetryFoundation.org is a leading website for American poetry. We reach a broad audience of readers both within and outside the poetry world who come to read an article about poets and poetry or search for a poem in our comprehensive archive of more than 4,500 poems by more than 500 classic and contemporary poets, including content from Poetry magazine.

Bulletin: Poetryfoundation.org has been nominated for a Webby! Please vote for us, right here: Webby Award Voting. Registration is very easy and we thank you for being a part of our site.a

My Interests

Growing our website's wonderful Poetry Tool, which lets users browse our huge (and fast-growing) archive of poems organized by poet, title, subject, and theme. Recent features on PoetryFoundation.org have included Poetry Valentines, an interview with Gary Snyder, and an ongoing series about poet's obsessions/collections.

Also: poetry in and outside of the literary canon, live readings, poetry podcasts, poets' blogs, poetry bestseller lists...
