Walking Contradiction

About Me

I'm big into movies...but I've been told my standards have dropped since I started getting to see them all for free (I work for a theatre company). I'll give most films a chance, but prefer Horror, Sci-Fi and Mystery/Suspense.
I've been collecting film, concert and event posters for about ten years and have over 700 now! I'm working on inventorying them all and will post a full list as soon as I have it finished....but that will probably take a while.
I'm a "hobby artist." My main mediums are photography and collage, but I also do sculpture and painting. My photography is mostly nature and landscapes. The rest of my art tends to lean towards the darker side of life.
I enjoy being outdoors. I bike and hike regularly. I recently took up rock climbing and also enjoy canoeing, kayaking and camping. I just got my ACUC Open Water Diver certification last summer and hope to do some "real world" diving this year.
I have lived in Hamilton my whole life and work in Toronto. I've been working for the same movie theatre company for the past 6 years. I started off serving popcorn and am now at the Head Office, working in the Purchasing Department.
I try to be aware of the world and my place in it. I believe that, by living a socially just and environmentally sustainable life, one person can make a difference.

Heroes:

The first step - especially for young people with energy and drive and talent, but not money- the first step to controlling your world is to control your culture. To model and demonstrate the kind of world you demand to live in. To write the books. Make the music. Shoot the films. Paint the art.

-Chuck Palahniuk

We're the middle children of history, man. No purpose or place. We have no Great War. No Great Depression. Our Great War's a spiritual war... our Great Depression is our lives. We've all been raised on television to believe that one day we'd all be millionaires, and movie gods, and rock stars. But we won't. And we're slowly learning that fact. And we're very, very pissed off.
