Hi there! Thanks for stopping by my page! I'm John Spijker. I'm a singer-songwriter from Amsterdam (The Netherlands). In my popsongs rock/soul/jazz/blues influences can be found. If you're interested here's some info:As a church choir member I started with drumming lessons at the tender age of ten. After being a drummer and a singer in a highschool-band, I became the lead singer of a rockband named Apple. Since 8 years I've been the lead singer and rythm-guitar player in a coverband, The Peachkings. We perform 2-3 times a month. We played as opening act for Grammy award winner Flaco Jimenez, Venice, Bløf, De Kast,Volumia, Di-rect etc.Writing my own songs has always been my favorite waste of time since I learned my first chords on my brother's guitar. Performing original songs all by myself has become an important part of my life since my third solo performance in the Paradiso club in March/April 2005 during the semi-finals of the Amsterdam singer-songwriter competition "Mooie Noten". Since then I've been playing live on a very regular basis. I was the support act for dutch band 16 Down and I was the opening act for Californian band ALO (Animal Liberation Orchestra) in the Melkweg club, Amsterdam. For more info check: www.johnspijker.nl
