I grew up in the middle of nowhere, nearby a small village in Drenthe, and started singing at 13 years old. My mother was a classical soprano, my brother studied classical music; the only music I heard at home was opera and oratoria. Later on I studied at the conservatory, where I didn't really fit in this 'classical world'.
To keep the story short..., years after graduating I gave in to my love for country & folk music. Although I still perform arias sometimes, I've just been starting up a new country/folk/americana band, called 'SwollSkin'. We mostly play acoustic, with a tough and sensual sound, performing originals as well as covers. Please check us out, at the SwollSkin musicspace in my topfriends!
