Born Albert Chambers jr. in Oct 5th 1967, the son of Albert Chambers Senior, a Bebop singer for a vocal group based ot of Boston Mass. named The Dappers (Epic Records, Peacock Records).Albert was raised in a little town called Lachenaie east of Montreal.
Albert had the best of both worlds being subjected to his father’s love of R&B. Stevie Wonder, Al Green and The Temptations and the Montreal Radio play of contemporary rock. “Later on this helped me when playing bass on rock gigs one weekend doing Hendrix, ZZ Top to Pearl Jam tunes. And then jumping from the next night playing R&B favorites.â€
After High School , Albert took some time to find out what was his ultimate passion. It was inevitable, music was what he had to do. He then attended Vanier college majoring in music in the late 80’s. Soon after Albert found himself working in all facades of the music industry. From co-hosting a Local Montreal T.V. show in the late 80’s called Rock Stage, Record Retail in N.Y.C. and Montreal, Music instrument Retail at Steve’s Music, and a lots of Bass, Vocal, and Guitar session work for TV shows such as, Are You Afraid Of The Dark, Arthur, Spaced Out, Night of the Demons and countless Commercials for successful, Emmy nominated tv music writer Raymond Fabi.
Since then for the past ten years Albert has been running and operating what is now known to be a first call rehearsal studios called (Studio Base Bin) in Montreal.
Because of the success of the studios, this has given Albert more free time to dedicate to songwriting and producing, Albert created Sweet Albi Productions for independent and signed acts. Albert has also been featured in CM (Canadian Musician magazine Feb, Mar 2005) along side of some music heavy weights, such as Michael McCarty (Sara Mclaughlin, Randy Bachman and many others giving tips on how to avoid the pitfalls of the music industry. Albert has also been featured in the Jan 07 issue of Professional Sound.
Albert has had the chance to work along side some very interesting people such as, Gary Sinice (Forest Gump, Apollo 13), Queen Latifah, Moist (Canadian multi-platinum band), and David Usher. Albert also just finished playing bass & guitar on a theme song for the Cartoon called Buster (Featuring Wyclef Jean on vocals)
Albert currently still plays bass live for Juno award winning band SKY when the chance arises and continues to do production work /or write for people such as Amy Powers (Barbra Streisand), O.T.M.C.( Dubmatique) The Sins, Stone Melodies, Coral Egan, Simple Plan, Jason Battah etc.
When producing a band, my objective is to get them ready for radio.
