About Me

There's always been a song playing in my head. Music, is a language, an energy you feel. You know it when you feel it. You have to trust it & go with it.
I grew up listening to my mom sing to CKGM AM and 50's and 60's records. So I started copying her. My cousin Bobby had a band that played up at his cottage on weekends. It was loud & they had these big old amplifiers. They were rock stars to me when I was little. When I was 12 he gave my first electric guitar and showed me some chords. My first lesson about song requests also came from him. When I asked him to play a CCR song he said, "We already played it" or "We'll do it in the next set", he blew me off, lol.
The best part of being a musician was getting to meet and play with some very cool people, learning from them, enjoying their music, and then making our own. I am grateful to Gerry's Kidds for having given me that opportunity. We all believe in the dream, the right to express ourselves. Play, play, play. Never stop. It doesn't hurt to have a screw loose either, that helps.
So, where do you want to put your colors?
Steve

Influences: My parents (thank you for always having a radio on)

There are two kinds of music, good and crap. I like good writers.

Let's see bands that have turned my crank, off the top of my head:

The Beatles, The Guess Who, Bachman-Turner Overdrive, Cat Stevens, AC/DC, The Stones, Gerry's Kidds, Goo Goo Dolls, Rainbow, Nirvana, April Wine, Elton John, Elvis, CSN&Y, Van Halen, John Lennon, Paul McCartney, Cheap Trick, Keb' Mo', Bruce Springsteen, Black Cat Bone (those fuckers rocked), Alice In Chains, Deep Purple, The Who, Superman, Jet, Whitesnake, Little Richard, Neil Young, Def Leppard, Keith Urban, Pink Floyd, Bob Dylan, Dirty Device, Lenny Kravitz, Jerry Lee Lewis, Til Tuesday, Foo Fighters, Zeppelin...sort of stick out for me. There's more for sure...

Jesus Just Left Chicago

Hi Another story about these tunes. The acoustic duo had an interesting start. Stephane and I were both playing in hard rock bands when I asked him if he would like to start an acoustic thing. He said...

Spoonful

At the time of the blues band, we figured we'll pick the best blues songs and do them the way we feel, try to take them a little further than where we found them. When we chose "Spoonful", I remember...

Let It Be Me (1987)

"Let It Be Me" was written by Brent Holland in the late '80's. His recent breakup inspired him to write this song.  With the help of his buddies, in 1987 we began recording in the studios of Conc...
