Wojciech Hoffmann is one of the best guitar players in Poland. His professional career dates back to 1980 when he co-founds one the most highly acclaimed Polish heavy rock band TURBO, with which he records one of the most famous in Poland rock record titled "Dorosle Dzieci" (Grown Up Children), being released in 1983 soon becoming sensational and most wanted record of that time. Its single occupies first place on most Polish hit lists for many months. Now the band was on its very top of fame. In 1985 TURBO records its second album "Smak Ciszy" (A Taste Of Silence) showing a strong advance towards melodic rock songs. Guitar solos from this record brought strong attention of music press and fans to Wojciech Hoffmann voting him one of the best Polish rock guitarists. Soon TURBO plays at Rock Arena, a big Polish rock festival with bands like HANOI ROCKS and PRETTY MAIDS. In 1986 the band releases its third album called "Kawaleria Szatana" (Satan's Cavalry) which was (and still is) regarded by fans and music press as the best heavy rock record of the 80-ies. It soon turns into band's leadership in rock music category in Poland and many mid Europe countries. The band visits many concert festivals playing with bands like ALASKA, KILLER. The 4th band's record "Ostatni Wojownik" (The Last Warrior) leads to a record deal with German record company Noise Records releasing the English version of this record titled "The Last Warrior". The record being distributed worldwide is a total shock for foreign music press comparing the band to SEPULTURA. As a next step TURBO plays many festivals with bands like HELLOWEEN, RUNNING WILD, OVERKILL and soon a professional tour with KREATOR. The overall atmosphere in Poland could be described with nothing less like TURBOMANIA. It was a time of many successful concerts and festivals what leads to releasing a live record called "Alive" which proofed the band's quality and professionalism. Unfortunately a lack of professional promotion strategy of band's management caused breaking the contract. At the same time Wojciech Hoffmann joins other band NON IRON making 3 records with it. In 1989 TURBO prepares its next album for Italian record Company Metalmaster however the band is not satisfied with this album what evoked personal changes. With new people in band Hoffmann releases another album "Dead End" this time with English company Music For Nation. The new worldwide career was about to begin. Promised tour with EXODUS never took place. High promises poor action resulted in final breakdown of the band. During this time Hoffmann takes part as a session player with many Polish artists and bands recording many records. In 1997 Hoffmann joins his dream band from the childhood days CZERWONE GITARY (The Red Guitars) and as a session player he records two albums (a studio record and a double live album). He also toured US and Canada with the band playing many live events throughout American continent. Finally in 1999 Wojciech Hoffmann reassembles TURBO and prepares a new record "Avatar" released in 2001. The record was very warmly accepted by fans and music press bringing the band and its lead guitarist back to attention. In 2003 Hoffmann released his debut album called "The Trees" which became the guitar album of the year in the catagory hard and heavy according to prestigious magazine "guitar and Bass" and Hoffmann was voted the best guitar player in the same category. The album received great reviews in many music magazines. In 2004 Hoffmann along with his band Turbo, released the 13th album called "Identity" including 2 CDs - 1 with classic heavy metal bringing them back to their roots, and 2 CD which includes live, unplugged versions of the songs. In 2005 Hoffmann recorded the live version of his solo album which will be released in Autumn as double live album. At the moment Hoffmann is working on his newest progressive rock solo album.
