INTRODUCING THE CHAMPION WINNER FOR MAY'S AXEL RITT SUMMER SKYLIGHTER POETRY CONTEST!
WELCOME!
Axel “Ironfinger” Ritt is the guitarist and backing vocalist for the German band, DOMAIN as well as being a composer and producer. Notorious for his commanding stage presence and amazing guitar performances that have earned him the nickname “Ironfinger”, Axel is also renowned for his “Zebra” guitars, (he has three!), one of which bears his signature - a ’06 Framus Axel Ritt Custom Shop Model!
Born on 13th March, Axel grew up in Cologne, Germany. At fourteen, Axel began playing guitar because, in his words, “besides the human voice, the guitar is the instrument with the most parameters (tone, loudness, attack, phrase…) to express your feelings.” In addition to playing guitar, he has also been known to pick up a bass from time to time as well as keep the beat on drums!
Upon receiving his university entrance degree, Axel moved to Dortmund, Germany and began studying music and architecture. In 1986, he joined the band, KINGDOM. From the start KINGDOM’s record company insisted they change their name due to the fact that it could be confused with Lenny Wolf’s band called Kingdom Come. And thus the birth of DOMAIN!
Axel has an impressive discography as both musician and producer. DOMAIN currently holds 11 album releases, 4 single & EP releases and 10 samplers. As a producer, Axel has 13 productions to his credit including DOMAIN releases: “One Million Lightyears From Home” (2001), “New Horizons” (2001), “The Artefact” (2002), “The Sixth Dimension” (2003), “The Last Days Of Utopia” (2005), “The Essence of Glory” (2005) (Asia Best), and “Stardawn” (2006).
Recently, Axel has teamed up with drummer, Thomen Stauch and vocalist, David De Feis (Virgin Steele) to begin work on an exciting new project! (Not to worry, DOMAIN is alive & kickin’ and going strong!) We’ll bring you up-to-date info on this and other projects as they unfold.

Axel “Ironfinger” Ritt est la guitariste et d’un des chœurs pour le groupe Allemand, DOMAIN aussi bien qu’un compositeur et producteur. Célèbre pour sa solide présence sur scène et des spectacles de guitare bien exceptionnelle qui l’avoir mérité son sobriquet « Ironfinger » (doigt de fer), Axel est également connu pour ses guitares « zèbres » (il a 3 !), d’une dont porter sa signature – une Framus ‘06 Axel Ritt Custom Shop Model !
Né le 13ième mars, Axel a grandi à Cologne Allemagne. À 14 ans il a commencé jouer la guitare cars, dans ses propres mots –« à part de la voix humaine, la guitare est l’instrument avec le plus paramètres (la sonorité, l’intensité, la force, l’attaque, la phrase…) à exprimer tes sentiments. » En plus de jouer la guitare, Axel a été connu à prendre la basse de temps en temps aussi bien que à jouer la batterie.
Lorsqu’il a reçu de sa licence BAC Axel a emménagé à Dortmund Allemagne où il a commencé à faire des études de la musique et de l’architecture. En 1986, il a joint le groupe, KINGDOM. Du début, leurs maison de disques a tenu qu’ils doivent changer le nom à cause d’en pourra être confus avec le groupe de Lenny Wolf appelé, Kingdom Come. Et Voilà – l’origine de DOMAIN !
