Tmausfilms produces short films, music videos, documentary's and feature films. "writers are often told to rather sell their scripts than to risk directing them. Actors are often typecast and not given a chance to do challenging roles" Monique says. Tmausfilms goal is to provide a workplace where not only we create a playground for our own imagination but also do give other artist a chance to do what the love to do. "If you limit someone creativity you'll only receive a piece of their craft. But if you give them them freedom to create you'll get the best of them and it will only make your end product a better piece of art." In the past we have worked with Lorenzo Leonard,Sean Wages, The Jack, Front Row, Vegas Car prod., texan rock band "not the government" - among others."Making feature films takes up so much time, from writing the script to getting the funding for a project - month sometimes pass." In that time" tmausfilms" film short films. "Having all this passion in your heart for the art of film & then having to sit around waiting for bigger project to start rolling is depressing so we film short films as the web series "addicted" & "Broken Hope" that is in the works at the moment. Places as youtube and myspace gives us the medium to distribute them ourself and most of all we get to do what we love to do" To see some of these short films or other Tmausfilms works please see our you tube account(listed above) - Information on the music associated with our films see :"www.myspace.com/tmausfilmsmusic" For upcoming projects see above.Direct contact : "[email protected]"-------------------------------------- --------------- TMAUSFILMS ARE : ------ WRITER/DIRECTOR "MONIQUE JACOBS" If you'd meet Monique - she wouldn't be the kind of filmmaker that talks much of her work, she tends to let her work talk for itself. Neither would she be the kind young writer that socializes a lot, she's more of the quiet type of person you'd find in bookstore, in the corner of a cafe writing notes or in a movie theater catching another art house film. That's pretty much who she has been all her life- Growing up for most of her earlier days in Kufstein, a small town near the German/Austrian boarder she'd often spend her days being on one of her many runaway trips from home. "Not having a solid home" she explains. "being beaten and abused at home goes around fast in a small town. People either felt sorry for me or they said it's not really bad, while truth is any violence is wrong, special towards children" Monique often skipped school to spend hours in the Library's reading and learning about the things she wanted to know. "I read a lot of Books there that deal with things that I've been through or one of my favorite things to read was lyrics. Bob Dylan was one of my inspiration - I loved how he tells story with few words". Sometime then she found the passion for writing and in her own words if it wasn't for the writing to be an outlet for the pain and doubts Monique would have turned to drugs like most kids that deal with violence at home. "To have been able to write what was going on in my world then was not only my way out of trouble but also the one things that gave my life a meaning". By 14, her family moved to Munich, Germany where again she often ran away from home to escape the abuse. "I honestly don't know how many time I left home - I grabbed a few things and hitchhiked around the country to find a place that I could call home - everything was better than staying" Monique had it all planned out - writing was going to be a part of her life. "It's funny when I look back and see the roads I've walked and where I ended up." she says. "When I was young I wanted to write music. I did wrote lyrics but my mother didn't allow me to learn playing an instrument. As I got older I found my place as a storyteller in movies." Music is still a huge inspiration to her and always will but having taken the path to Hollywood sure was the right thing to do. "I still write song lyrics and I've taken on learning to play guitar some time ago, I getting better the more I play" ------Monique has left Europe in 2001 to try her luck in Los Angeles and has since been working aside from tmausfilms' projects as freelance film editor, AD and DP on various productions over the years. "I work a lot, really a lot, always have 3 or 4 jobs and friends always complain that I don't have time to see them but you know this - writing, filming and the whole process of making moves is not work to me. It's what I love to do - it is so important to be able to do that one things that completes someone life simply because life is too short to spend the days thinking what if it doesn't work out. What if? At least you can look back and say you tried and gave your best." My Interests

AS FILMMAKER - WE'RE INTERESTED IN MAKING MOVIES THAT MATTER, tell story that have been kept silent for years. I know we not going to make the big money by choosing to make little independent films but it's nothing that can break our hearts for we get to do what we love to do and that's so much more important than anything that money could ever buy you. HERE'S A FEW SUBJECT'S that we are interested in making films about : Music - anything that has to do with music if a musician's life story, a musical or just a film that deals with music in any way, Human rights violations, United Nations work, original funny character driven story's about life, people's journey from turning hate to forgiveness or generally story's that carry human character and deal with things that everyday people can relate too. And not that I want to get political here but if we were to make a political movie at some point along the road it would tell more of the human side of the story - like for example a child's life in Afghanistan. Would be political but more about the boy's/girl's life.

I'd like to meet:

People who's hearts are filled with life - who have something to say - are not afraid to speak up.people who follow their dreams and are not too shy to say they are not perfect(for nobody is - it's the good and bad things we do or live through that make us to who are today), creative people(musicians, songwriter, actors, writer, directors, producers, documentary filmmakers, world travelers, - general people who love life and live the best of it:)Or people who love to share their thoughts about life, love and forgiveness:) Well, and to write some names of people that I would really like to meet: Nelson Mandela, Bono, Bob Geldorf, , every single soul that is hurt(I don't really like to see people cry, always try to make them feel good, life is too short to cry tears for when you can carry a smile in your heart and live life filled with happiness) and well here's a list of some great man/women who passed that I would have loved to meet: Mother Theresa, Ghandi, Ray Charles, Princesses Diana, JFK JR. and well I wouldn't mind for Barry White to give private concert."IT IS THE HEART THAT TELL'S THE TRUTH, THE EYE'S THAT CAN'T HIDE YOUR SOUL AND THE LOVE YOU PASS ON THAT WILL BE REMEMBERED WHEN YOU'RE GONE"-------

Music:

We're always interested in hearing new artists, established bands and all kind of creative musicians. "I could make a million film yet none would make it anywhere if doesn't have the right music playing along." See our tmausmusic profile for more info on music videos we're working on, score for our movie or songs that are included in our films. And please see our friends list for some great bands/singer from all over the world.

Movies:

MOVIES THAT INSPIRE US: Anything that George Clooney produces but I must say I like the choices of projects that Brad Pitt recently made with his production company as well. "Don't Move"(Italian film with Penelope Cruz)"the sea inside"(Spanish movie - beautifully filmed and well acted - and amazing story about life) "Constant Gardner"(great cinematography and the actings, the location the shots the movie-Kenya..one of the most beautiful and inspiring places on earth), "Jaws","Hotel Rwanda"(moving and touching story...makes me cry and wonder why these things still happen), "Girl Interrupted"(wonderful story, great acting..awesome soundtrack and well directed), "The Notebook"(it's a love story but one told in a very beautiful way, amazing director...),"John Q"(that movie was made by the same director that did "The Notebook"...makes me feel for the little boy from the first moment he falls on the baseball field) A FEW DOCUMENTARY THAT INSPIRE US AS WELL "ghost of Rwanda"(pbs nightlife..has interviews of kofi annan, UN official and some of the few journalist that remained when the killing began and aid worker who then were there give their point of view, will leaves you crying. ...)"Bus 174"( this is a docu that is based on true happening of a bus kidnapping by a streetkid from rio in brazil...something that will give u the insight in the gloabl issue of runaway kids and show you their human heart. Having been a runaway kid myself...I can only say -it's a docu we all should wactch..it will make u see these kids from a different side) "Innocent Voices"( kid from columbia who escapes becoming a childsoilder in war by leaving to america...wonderful story about life, loss and how war changes a kids life.), Machuca(Chilean movie about the kids point of view during politcal trouble), "a might heart", "rescue Dawn".

Television:

"CSI", Cold Case","tlc-untold stories of the er" and well the rest of the time I tune into nation geographic channel or discovery channel. I love watching those animals shows on sharks and travel shows where you learn something about various cultures and religions. Before I worked 24/7 I used to watch Simpson, X-files, Melrose Place, Without a Trace, Beverly Hills 90210, Charlies Angels, Full House and all the other great comedy.drama shows from the 90's.

Books:

I've been reading books for soooo long. I read up to 3 books a week nowadays. Here's a few I've recently read: "love in the dries est season" by Nelly Tucker, "first they killed my father" by Loung Ung, "Lucky Child" also by Loung Ung, "Notes from my travel" by Angelina Jolie - recently I've been reading some History Books on Sudan and various other African country's in general and also some Books on UNHCR(www.unhcr.org) and several other charity organizations that I'm eager to learn more about. But I love reading Biography's, fictions and simply stories about life...things that moves us. And of course I do like Stephen King - I read all his novel back in my childhood first in my mother language then english. He's been kind of a teacher/mentor to me early on when I started writing. And well, what else have I read lately...mm - Nelson Mandela's Biography and just the other day while spending hours shopping at barnes&nobels I found a biography of an African Poet/novelist - I forgot his name now, I'll check it when I get home but that has/is a very interesting book talks about his childhood in Kenya, to his days he spend in london and that guy also won the nobel peace price. Well, I'll look up the book and post the name later.
