The 32-year-old native Detroiter developed his many talents at an early age, his love for singing and acting prompted his participation in numerous contests, which yielded many vocal awards, such as the Aeolin Award for best male vocalist. LaMark fully embraces his calling to the local church ministry. Under the spiritual leadership and anointing of Bishop Nehemiah Smith of the Greater Apostolic Faith Temple, in Detroit, Michigan, La Mark has excelled in ministry as a psalmist, writer, arranger and producer. In addition to serving the local church, LaMark has also served as the Michigan State Council Praise & Worship leader for the Pentecostal Churches of the Apostolic Faith (PCAF)- where the Honorable Alfred Singleton presides. LaMark has, personally ministered with Deitrick Haddon, where he served as a background vocalist in the live video recording, Chain Breaker. He has also been featured in the Light Year Production Play, Whats Love Got to Do With It, written by Derrick & Celeste Brinkley. LaMark is also known for his songwriting and arranging abilities. He has written songs for such artists as Derrick Starks (Potters House) and Phillips Brooks (I am Here), featuring gospel icon, Keith Staten, from Commissioned.LaMark is happily married to Marlena, his wife of 12 years; and they are blessed to have two beautiful daughters, Markell and Marcia. LaMarks second family is One-A-Chord. This aggregation of 16 anointed and amazing minstrels, vocally enhance and support LaMarks vision and musical endeavors. One-A-Chord was birthed 10-years ago as a community choir for the Greater Metro Detroit area. In February 2006, Mark Holley & One-A-Chord released their first album entitled, What a Friend. The response in accolades from local and national radio stations as well as gospel artists has been overwhelming and humbling. This collective body of believers has a passion for ministry, an interest in musical excellence , and a drive to let the world know that God is love. The evidence of that love of God and love from God is exhibited through our relationships with one another. We are one through His blood. The sole purpose of this ministry is to reach the lost , to edify and encourage Gods people. The primary goal of Mark Holley & One-A-Chord is to reach the masses and to deliver the plan of salvation to the lost. This ministry strives to promote and produce unity in the body of Christ, through love.Mark Holley & One-A-Chord have been privileged to share the stage with artists such as Darius Twyman & Destiny, Derrick Milan & The Krew, Byron Cage, Dorinda Clark-Cole, Karen Clark-Sheard, Kierra KiKi Sheard, Chris Jones & Word of Praise and have done live recordings with Detroit Sings, produced by Deitrick Haddon.LaMark says that one of his dreams is to bring a message of unity to the body of Christ and to break all racial barriers within our churches and ultimately, the world. LaMarks prayer is to deliver a message of unconditional love to a people forgetting race and spiritual denomination.
