About Me

Heath Robinson is a folk-rock duo, based in Ohio, USA, and Nottinghamshire, UK.

Richard Hollis' father taught piano, and it was from him that Richard learned to read music. He began studying electric guitar at the age of 12, and joined his first rock band at the age of 16. Richard has played professionally in three other bands. He began playing acoustic guitar in his mid-20s. Richard enjoys playing both acoustic and electric guitars and keyboard. He also enjoys engineering, and is HR's producer and engineer as well as contributing heavily to arrangements. Richard's "day job" is as a senior design engineer.

Joellen Robinson was born to two multi-instrumentalists. Her mother played the piano, saxophone, and ukulele. Her father played bluegrass-style guitar and tuba, and had taught her mother the sax. Joellen began her music training before the age of 5, when she began studying piano. After pestering her parents for a guitar for a few years, she began guitar lessons in her early teens, and was classically trained at a conservatory of music, where she received a bachelor degree in music. Along the way she picked up banjo, mandolin, recorder, autoharp, saxophone (which she no longer plays), and mountain dulcimer, as well as few other instruments. She worked as a production coordinator, musician, and music arranger for two studios, and played in a few working bands. Joellen works as an RN supervisor.

So far, we've gotten some very positive feedback on Lord Lovill...thank you! It's sort of Bob Johnson-esque, I think.  Now, if MySpace will fix the standalone player so that the number of plays/...

New projects in the works (if you read our LJ, you can skip this entry!)

We're working on several new songs, some of which won't make it onto MySpace due either to length or due to the four-song limit.  Those we can't load here we'll put on the web site (which is in s...
