2008 REVIEWS/COMMENTS"AND I LOVE HER" (McCartney cover) "There are only a handful of covers that bands and solo artists have done better than the original.... I can’t believe how you were able to take a basic skeleton of a song and add the haunting sounds of Harrison to it as well and turn it into something uniquely your own. Great Job my friend. I absolutely love it....."--Lisa Raye (from The Auroras) April 1, 2008

"FLAMES" "Flames is an amazing achievement, really great song. I couldn’t believe it when it came to the end and it had only been three minutes... it was epic, felt like a lot more. Thats an amazing thing to be able to do. Really enjoyed it!"--- Ben Sommers (from Mozzy Green) March 13, 2008

------------------------------------------------------------ ----- SAVING SOLDIER SADIE"
LIVING ATHEIST: "When everyone is banging on musically about more local issues, such as love, personal circumstances and all that stuff, there are one or two activists out there (and Jim Pearson is another) that have the bravery to shout about what the fuck’s going on in other worlds. It’s a moving tune, particularly as it deals with the death of a female soldier....Musically, it’s typical Richard, so the quality speaks for itself. Lyrically, it’s typical Richard, i.e. it’s excellent as well.Reminds me of: Billy Bragg, Dylan, Billy Joel, Beatles (a tiny bit), Kinks...In a sentence: Schwarzenegger out, Filaccio in!"---Reviewed by Boff April 4, 2008"SAVING SOLDIER SADIE"
BABBLE and BEAT: "At very first listen I wasn’t sure what to make of the melodies but they quickly grew on me. I just love how unusual this song sounds - its layers are modern meets classic, the vocals are pleasant and interesting, the lyrics have depth, and despite the topic it manages to have an upbeat feel to it. I just love it!"---by Stacy Sardelli January 22, 2008http://www.myspace.com/babbleandbeat

"PEARLS IN THE TREES"
LIVING ATHEIST: "This is a great tune....I like the energy and the build and fall flow of the arrangement....almost an American Indian tribal theme kicking about in the background, and yet also a southern, indeed redneck heat happening at the same time....it comes across a bit goth too...."---Reviewed by Bends February 6, 2008 (Richard’s Note: "Pearls In The Trees" was composed by Silje Karlsen, an amazing unsigned artist. "IMAGINE" (Lennon cover) LIVING ATHEIST: "If the rest of the population of this dreadful planet followed Richard’s doctrine, the place would be maybe as he tells us. As one. This is a great reengineering of Lennon’s classic, with the timing altered significantly to make you think about it differently. I thought "hang on… this bit is... oh I see... oh yeah". Clever reworking of the original arrangement, but I expect nothing less from this man." Boff February 3, 2008

2007 REVIEWS:
DEMOS REVIEWED: "His style is very much accessible to English ears, with it seeming almost like a modern Beatles feel to it. The vocals move from soft to uplifting, as ’Life During Hard Times’ shows. ’Mountain’.... is the best track. Stylish, well crafted and with American rock and British pop gleaming through...."----Demos Reviewed September 5, 2007

2006 REVIEW:
LOS ANGELES TIMES: "Perfect for this climate of ’80s chic, Filaccio may draw sonic comparisons to Thomas Dolby and Gary Numan, but the songwriting craftsmanship is pure Lennon-McCartney."--Review by Casey Dolan, "Downloads", Los Angeles Times (JULY 8, 2006)

RICHARD’S BIO:
I am a songwriter/singer. 2008 expanding an artist "alliance"--"THE POP LEAGUE"--featuring myself and now 40 of my favorite unsigned/indie new artists. I also publish a weekly Blog "The No. 9, No. 9" spotlighting nine interesting artists or bands found in MySpace.....
Besides this site for my current songs, there is "RICHARD’S ARCHIVES" pre-2008 cuts...and my alter ego project "r.f.clone".
In addiion, my former band, tribute site: "PUPPIES (San Diego)". Authentic (vintage?) New Wave from the Reagan era. And soon a Covers site, and Solo Acoustic...Yes, I am the busiest man in MySpace!
OTHER STUFF:
Between 1994-2001 I scored short films and an composed online music for filmmaker, KENDALL LOCKHART
Provided Sound Design in the late 1990’s for Director/Playwright JIM WILKINS for his beautifully shocking, LAST PLANET THEATRE.
In San Francisco occasionally performed, focusing on recording
In San Diego, mid to late ’80’s, reinvented myself as an edgy, solo, anti-folk, neo-acoustic rock act. Performed in concert in San Diego with poet/rocker (Basketball Diaries) JIM CARROLL and brilliant, seminal eccentric, JONATHAN RICHMAN.....
Developed a short-lived Techno Pop group in 1984 called "SHELF LIFE" after a premature disbanding of So. California’s pioneering New Wave band "PUPPIES". PUPPIES were signed to England’s STIFF RECORDS (Stiff Tees singles label). Put out a New Wave single "Mechanical Beat/Atmosphere".
Before PUPPIES I was in a oddball Bonzo Dog Dooh Dah type band called "BO BOM BEAVE" (guitar, percussion, saxes, megaphones, darkly funnt mascot: a dummy with a real human skull on it--with actual moving, spring-action jaw and lit up eyes...))---and before and during that, a young songwriter learning and daydreaming( when I was 10 yrs old my grandfather taught me to play mandolin---and THAT was the real start)......
