BUY SAY GOODBYE HERE
I grew up in a small coastal town in Southern Maine, where, among other things, I learned to play classical piano. When I was 18 I moved to Cambridge, where I learned a great deal about the field of Social Anthropology at Harvard University, and once a week made my way across the Charles River to study jazz piano with an inspired teacher at Boston's Berklee College of Music. My last year of college it occured to me to marry my two loves of music and poetry and WRITE A SONG. The song was a bit of a disaster but the PROCESS... ah!!!!... I was hooked. I wrote a bunch of songs, many disasters, some... better!!, put on concerts in my dorm, and made the decision to move to California post-graduation to explore an existence as a singer/songwriter. I've been in the Bay Area for five years, now. This year I released my first CD, "Say Goodbye," produced by Jon Evans (Tori Amos) and featuring Jon on bass, Scott Amendola (Charlie Hunter, Madeleine Payroux) on drums, and Julie Wolf (Ani Difranco) on accordion. I perform as a soloist, a trio, a sex-tet, and once there were about ten of us on stage. My band includes Jon Arkin on drums, Dan Fieszli on bass, and Kasey Knudsen on saxophone.
