Suzanna Smith is an emerging talent on the Bay Area jazz scene. With a sparkle that charms, a golden tone and an innate sense of swing, Suzanna joyfully brings classic jazz standards to life.
Suzanna lists Anita O'Day, Louis Armstrong, Ella Fitzgerald, Mel Torme, Sarah Vaughn, Shirly Horn, Chet Baker, Julie London, Patsy Cline and Otis Redding as her influences. Drawing from this diverse group, Suzanna has developed a sound and style that is totally unique. Her soulful blend is simple, yet sophisticated — true and distinctive.
Currently studying at the Berkeley Jazzschool and privately with jazz vocalist Kitty Margolis, Suzanna has also studied with Madeline Eastman, Laurie Antonioli, Kenny Washington, Maye Cavallaro, and Stephanie Bruce and pianist Kelly Park, owner of Kelly's of Alameda.
From 2006-2007, Suzanna regularly entertained audiences at Kelly's of Alameda in Alameda, CA, performing every other Friday night; a run cut short only by the sale of the venue. In addition, she has performed in San Francisco at The Purple Onion, The Octavia Lounge and Bistro Yoffi, at The Jazzschool in Berkeley and at private events around the Bay Area.
Suzanna continues to win over Bay Area audiences, bringing warmth and grace to each performance and leaving a room full of new fans.
