Influences:I am a product of an earlier era, I am heavily influenced by people who had to work hard to get into the clubs they played in. I have nothing but respect for the people who created Jazz and it is an honor to sing their music. Ella is my inspiration.I also admire Billie, Nina, Dinah, Aretha, Etta and Sarah. The gentlemen who made me listen are Frank Sinatra, Nat King Cole, Ray Charles, Johnny Hartman, Louis Armstrong, Dean Martin and Bing Crosby. I adore Lauryn Hill, Alicia Keys, Joss Stone, Eva Cassidy and Christina Aguilera.Aside from singers, I have to hear Ben Webster, Chick Webb, Duke Ellington, Chris Botti, John Coltrane, and Stevie Ray Vaughn. Ultra-creative artists using electronic instruments make me even more inspired...I am at a loss for people who don't give me some kind of creative charge.
