Superthief

SUPERTHIEF formed in February of 2007 as the final incarnation of singer-guitarist SHY Sayar's vision - a fusion of his studies of J. S. Bach's harmony & voice leading and the raw energy of his rock idols, including Thom Yorke, Jeff Buckley and Freddy Mercury. Shy wrote the first versions of current Superthief hits "Without You" and "Talking Head" in early 2005 and started performing as an acoustic solo act in January 2006. Meeting JASON later that year marked the beginning of a move towards an electrified, fully produced band sound. Some 30 original songs since, SUPERTHIEF evolved to include pianist-singer NICOLE, drummer BRYAN, and finally bassist KYLE.
SUPERTHIEF has been playing in front of increasingly large (and more importantly, loving) audiences since their first show together at the Oakland Metro on April 29, 2007, and are deeply grateful to all their supporters.
