About Me

Per (a Scandinavian name sounding a bit like 'pear') showed up in Philadelphia in a progressive world music family and began singing from an early age . Per the teenager attended the Berklee College of Music in Boston and absorbed a bit of Jazz, adding to a foundation of funk, folk, and pop ... Fast forward a few more years and the California Per started visiting India for meditation - researching the inner peace/outer peace connection and listening to spiritual in music in Hindi.
Currently, Brother Per is splitting time between traveling the roadless enlightenment journey and the Care n Hope Project , a super fresh dance & down-tempo devotional electronica experience released by tEMPLE mUSIC gROUP
'The most important journey one can take is the journey within. This is a journey to the truth of who I really am. This is the place, just beyond every day consciousness, where spiritual empowerment begins. Spiritual power gives me the power to choose creative thinking rather than automated thinking, response rather than reaction, peace and unity rather than stress, conflict and chaos.
Meditation enables me to embark on this inward journey. I begin to remember things about myself that I once knew, but had long forgotten. I start to enjoy moments of silence and to savour periods of introspection and reflection.
Making music is like becoming an Instrument. The work is to tune the self with the Divine, and this is an every day process.
My first album ' For The Journey' was released in 2000 www.cdbaby.com/cd/permarshall or itunes. The disc features some great talents of the eclectic bohemian music scene in the San Francisco Bay Area. Matt Brubeck adds some super funky cello playing on the tracks 'Being' and 'Traveler'. Most of the songs are powerful acoustic ballads treated with classic arrangements carrying a positive message.
Tracks posted at www.broadjam.com/per are noteworthy as well...

Sounds Like: CHP got a record deal --yeah! ....CD coming out this summer... this is the scoop...

Buddhist Rasta BeatMaster Engineer teams with DiscoYogi SingerSongwriter(me) and the 'Care n Hope Project' is begun...

drawing on diverse talent from a global network of creative realists CHP's first release -Calling Shiva- was 'zenned' in to being, with Tibetan and French finding a spiritual common-ground with Hindi and English; great for yoga classes, driving , dancing, or just chilling out and soon to be heard playing in un-franchised coffee shops around the globe.

The Caren Hope Project heralds a new fusion sound from the bay area for directly transforming the planets musical climate with ancient & modern merging PERfectly just in time for a great unfolding drama of humanity's space time continuum returning to its source.... this music finds many practical applications from clubs to meditation centers, and can/will reach a wide audience. Welcome aboard.
