Hello there. I'm Kathryn Howard, the 5th wife of King Henry VIII. I was raised in a small country home in Lambeth, but it wasn't very pleasant, since although we were Howards, we were quite poor.My grandmother, the Dowager Duchess of Norfolk, decided to take me into her household so I could become a presentable lady. I was after all quite pretty.
As I soon learned, men found me very attractive and wanted to show their emotion to me in many ways! I'm quite sexy and most men wanted to ravish me, but the first man who did it was Henry Manox, who was my music teacher. Sorry boys.
I also fell in love with Francis Dereham, a secretary at court. He was very fun and of course, we decided to consumate our betrothal. My grandmother found out though, so that was it for Francis.
In 1539, I managed to get a position at the King's court as a Lady In Waiting. Henry was enchanted with me because I was young and beautiful. Each time I met King Henry, I would shyly smile; I was slowly drawing Henry into my web. I was very excited about being a Queen. It meant I would have everything I wanted, and I would be married to the most powerful man in England.
Then My eye fell upon the young courtier, Thomas Culpepper. He was so beautiful! And I knew that I had loved him beyond any other man! Not to mention he was GREAT in bed compared to...other men. Lady Rochford soon helped me devise ways to spend my nights with him...without anyone knowing. When my enemies told the King, Henry became furious and sentenced me to be beheaded for treason. Not only was I sentenced to death, but my lovers were killed as well. .
So in 1542, after only a few months of being Queen of England, I was beheaded with an axe. Not exactly a happy ending for me. The executioner was pretty cute though. My ghost can still be heard screaming down the Gallery of Hampton Court...go check it out!
