I was born Elisabeth Amalie Eugenie von Wittelsbach on December 24, 1837 in Munich, Bavaria, but my friends and family playfully call me Sissi. I am the daughter of Maximailian, Duke of Bavaria and Ludovika, Royal Princess of Bavaria. I grew up with my older sister Helene in the Castle Possenhofen, close to Munich. In the summer of 1853, when I was 15 years old I went with my mother and Helene, to Bad Ischl, to meet the the 23 year old Emperor of Austria, Franz Joseph, hoping Helene would catch his attention. Instead he chose me. We were happily married in Vienna in 1854. I had difficulty adapting to the strict etiquette of the Habsburg court. Soon after, Franz and my marriage I bore three children; Sophie, Gisela and Rudolf. My mother-in-law refused to let me have any major influence on my childrens' up bringing, so after my daughter, Sophie's death when she was two years old. I left and began traveling around Europe going to Madeira, Hungray, England, Ireland and Corfu. In 1867 I returned to Austria. During this time Austria and Hugray united to making Franz and I, King and Queen of Hungray. In 1868 my favorite daughter Marie Valerie was born. I began aimlessly traveling around Europe again. I was, as some would say, obessed with having a slim and beautiful figure, which resulted in many mile marches, excessive gymnastics, and a strict vegan diet, which did nothing to help my on going struggle with anorexia. In 1889 my only son, the Crown Prince Rudolf and his lover Mary Vetsera both commited suicide. He was 31 years old. These and other things lead to my depressed last years. And on September the 10th, 1898; I was traveling in Geneva, Switzerland and was stapped to death by a terrorist by the name of Luigi Lucheni. My last words were " What happened to me?"
