Dash Intro: Dash started DJing at the age of 14 after being influenced by his brothers extensive collection of Old School Hip Hop, Acid House and Techno, he soon acquired a taste for Breakbeat, and in particular the Fingerlickin records style of Breaks as championed by the Plump DJs, Soul of Man, Drumattic Twins etc.. At 17 he played his first set in The Lemon Lounge, Liverpool (where many a DJ has lost their DJ virginity) then later on that year gained a residency at a new night called Monkey Business. Monkey Business went from strength to strength and became well known for destroying dancefloors at The Lemon Lounge, Carling Academy, and at its final residence of Nation, the home of Cream.
Monkey Business finished off proceedings in late 2003 which gave Dash the opportunity to concentrate on DJ'ing at different venues throughout the land while in turn setting up his own Breakbeat specific clubnight titled 'In Stereo'. Both ventures turned out to be successful with Dash DJ'ing at over 60 clubnights throughout 2004 while In Stereo took off and received a whole host of good reviews in local and national media. Dash Celebrated In Stereo's 1st Birthday in September of 2004 by releasing the second instalment of his 'In Stereo Classics' CD which quickly became well received by not only local but the national dance music fraternity winning Mixmag's 'Bedroom Heroes' competition for best mix.
Dash with the help of 'Funkadelic' (another Liverpool clubnight) also got the chance to set up In Stereo's own charity event known as 'The FryOff' - a twice a year 12hr summer BBQ with 2 floors 24 DJ's and live acts. The events raised over £500 for good causes.
Dash in 2005
2005 saw Dash entered for the 'Corona DJ Competition' in which he managed to get through to the world finals -winning both the local, regional and UK finals along the way. No mean feet considering there were over 500 competitors in the UK alone. Unfortunetly the title was not be his.
2005 also saw Dash team up with the promoters of 'Superfly' in order to strengthen and build on what was an already becoming a successful Liverpool clubnight. The night enjoyed widespread success including sell-out gigs, magazine features and joint ventures with Chibuku, Hustle and GimpFist to name but a few.
Dash also continued the fry-off with two more parties bringing the total raised for good causes in excess of £1000
Dash in 2006?
Dash is currently concentrating on producing some of his own material as well as working on a series of new mix cd's
