About Me

I write speculative fiction: from SF to horror. My science fiction tales are sometimes dark, sometimes humorous while my horror stories range from understated psychological to full-on gorefest.
I’ve been a fan of speculative fiction from the moment I first saw the film Forbidden Planet on TV at the tender age of six or seven and there is a strong family rumour that I’m a descendant of the Dorset poet, William Barnes, so I guess it was almost inevitable that I’d start writing fiction some day. My comedy science fiction novella 'I Was Probed By Aliens And Lived To Tell The Tale!' ISBN 1-905203-98-5 is available to buy from several sources, including Amazon.co.uk
It's all about having fun - a little digression from all the horror. This Young Adult comedy SF tale concerns a man named Will Brown, a bit of a loner, who is whisked away from his humdrum life here on Earth and led through a series of comic/cosmic encounters, ultimately learning the true nature of friendship.
The book, which has eight cartoon-style interior illustrations by Terry Cooper (the BFS award nominated artist who also created the eye-catching front cover), has been described as This Island Earth meets Men Behaving Badly with a liberal sprinkling of Laurel and Hardy and Blackadder.
