About Me

PS Publishing, a U.K. publisher of Stephen King, Ray Bradbury, Joe Hill, Ramsey Campbell, and others. My story Nowhere to Go appears in Postscripts #14, a rather dark tale about a retired novelist caring for his sick wife in rural Nova Scotia.
A reader from Scotland writes:
When I first saw Nowhere to Go in Postscripts #14 was only three pages long I must admit to feeling a little disappointed and thinking, "Well, this is gonna be like a kiss on the cheek from someone you really fancy, when what you actually want is a full on Frenchy, or maybe even to go in for a feelsky." But in its economy of words it achieves more than what some self-important literary authors would struggle to accomplish in a full length novel.
I confess to having little affection for the short-short story as they're often gimmicky and, well, just too damn brief to be much of anything. And yet, even here in such a short space, Wood manages brilliantly to hold the reader back from the moment to come - and for a full page! - while he delves into the life of Bob's family and friends and of writing itself. The story is bleak in its inevitability; thoughtful and moving in its execution. -- Paul Campbell, Scotland. May 17, 2008.
The Ashen-Eye magazine to publish my short story Warm Milk in 2008.
"I just read your Warm Milk excerpt over at Ashen Eye. I'm not scrubbing the kitchen floor again unless all the doors are locked!" -- Esmaa Self. (Used with permission.)
