I am here for Friends and Networking

About Me

I'm in my second year of a PhD in Creative Writing at Lancaster University, where I'm exploring narratology and reader response theory through the crime genre. Basically, I'm writing a novel about a dead boy with various obsessions: why he was murdered, his crush on a coma patient, and his interest in Japanese businessman and serial killer Yugi Hamugoshi and his dutiful wife Chinatsu.

I teach first years, work for the Open University, tutor locally, and, in previous incarnations, wrote *sensual* romance, keyword here. My short story Ghost in the Mechanic was broadcast on BBC radio last year.

My first novel, Game, Set, Love-Match was published in April 2006 by Siren. I am currently working on The Little Death.
