The United States produces 23.8% of Carbon Dioxide in the world. China produces 14.6%. Russia 6.2%, Japan 5% and the other half is divided among the rest of the countries. This image is self explanatory. The sea level is rising. This is just a picture of polar bears. This poor animals have been drowning because ice caps in the North Pole are melting.
What we can do to help out in this crisis: 1. Plant a tree 2. Recycle 3. Ride public transportation when possible 4. Ride a bike or walk to work/school 5. Use fluorescent bulbs 6. Buy a hybrid car 7. Turn off unused energy 8. Unplug your computer 9. Demand fresh air: the Clean Air Act of 1970 reduced pollution, But coal industries are trying to weaken the law. Also if you guys havent seen "An Inconvinient Truth" i recomend it to you guys. its a movie by Al Gore talking about Global Warming and its effects.4billion trees were used to make paper in 2005. If we swap paper cups for a mug we'll save 13 million trees this year. Also plastic bags end up thrown away and end up in landfills and they release toxins into our soil and water. Mount Kilimanjaro is another example of Global Warming. More than 80% of its ice caps have vanished. The ice caps date back as far as more than 11,000 years ago. This mountain has always been snowed on for centuries and in 20 years its ice caps will be gone. This will affect Afrcan people because many depend on its glaciers for food supply.This is one of the last glaciers left on Mount Kilimanjaro.
