HONORING OUR CONNECTION WITH NATURE
Imagine a portion of real estate almost the size of the United States and you get an idea of the immensity of the Amazon Rainforest. Imagine a virgin tropical environment hundreds of miles from the nearest road or source of pollution. Think of the Rainforest soil, rich in minerals and trace elements as the forest continuously recycles in a virtually closed ecosystem.
Imagine over 200,000 species of plants thriving in this tropical paradise. Consider that approximately 40% of modern therapies and medicines are derived from just 2% of these Rainforest botanicals. Think about the life-saving research that still needs to be done.

Rainforest are home to more species of plants and animals than all the Earth’s other ecosystems combined. We also find numerous Indigenous communities still living in the Rainforest in their traditional Earth-honoring way.
Each of us can take action daily to preserve the Rainforest, and by doing so protect its ancient wisdom that sustains our lives. At Amazon Herb Co. preserving the Rainforest and its Indigenous Communities is at the heart of our reason for being.
WHY RAINFOREST PRESERVATION
• Of the estimated original 4 billion acres of Rainforest, only about 2.7 billion remain.
• Over the last 50 years, more than half of the world’s tropical forests have been destroyed.
• We are losing our Rainforest at an average rate of 75 acres every minute; 108,000 acres a day, and over 39 million acres per year.
• Over 90 different Amazonian tribes are thought to have disappeared since 1900.

A NEW FUTURE FOR THE RAINFOREST -- DEVELOPING NEW RELATIONSHIPS
With Just under three decades of experience traveling to the jungles and highlands of the Amazon, company founder and CEO “Amazon John†Easterling has developed long-lasting relationships with Indigenous communities. These relationships are based on trust, mutual respect and a common vision of a positive future.
The Amazon Herb Co. is providing support to many indigenous communities in the Amazon. These villages have been challenged by many forces of change including logging and oil exploration. Now they have greater choices managing their land, their resources and their culture. The Amazon Herb Co. is committed to supporting positive, sustainable future for the Rainforest and its inhabitants.

AMAZON HERB CO. EMPOWERS & DEFENDS
PORVENIR NATIVE LAND RIGHTS
Porvenir, a small indigenous community, established over 70 years ago when two Indigenous families settled there, but it wasn’t until 2003 the residents of the village of Porvenir were given legal ownership of the 13,000 acres of land sustaining them. It was the Amazon Herb Co. that came to the assistance of the people of Porvenir, spearheading the multi-year process of securing the deed, and then later providing attorneys and engineers to defend it in court when their rights were challenged. This community of 200 Shipibos now enjoys the security of owning their 13,000 acres of land. Their vision of the future has now been changed for generations to come.

FORMING THE RIO PISQUE FEDERATION
Amazon Herb Co. sponsored the formation of the Rio Pisqui Federation. This federation represents all of the natives along the isolated Pisqui River. As a united Federation these communities will be better able to protect and defend their land, way of life and traditional knowledge. They will also be able to better provide education for their children, safeguard their culture and right for self-determination. Together and collectively empowered, they will advocate for laws that favor native communities, as it pertains to social, economic and political issues.
INDIGENOUS COMMUNITIES EXPRESS THEIR APPRECIATION
The Regional Institute of Growth for Native Communities, based in the Ucayali region of Peru, recently granted a formal letter of appreciation to John Easterling and the Amazon Herb Co. Associates for a variety of different contributions made to many of the native communities in the area.
The Regional Institute of the Development of Native Communities – IRDECON-GRDS, on behalf of the Indigenous Shipibo Conibo People, convey our recognition and gratitude to Mr. John Easterling, CEO and the Amazon Herb Co Associates, for the support that they bring to the native indigenous communities in areas such as - obtaining the official recognition of the communal territory (LAND RIGHTS), health, fluvial transport (BOATS), acquisition of communication equipment, sponsoring indigenous radio programming, as well as the commercialization of natural products; all of these directly benefiting the Native Communities of Nuevo Eden, (Rio Pisqui), Porvenir, Galilea, Puerto Firmeza, San Francisco, Caco Macaya, Puerto Nuevo and Curiaca.
For all of this, we commend you and are thankful for your humanitarian support and solidarity with the Indigenous People of the Amazon.
