About Me
The band was founded in the winter of 1997, idealized by Dewindson Wolfheart. RAVENLAND´s music is a mixture between heavy metal, melancholy and the GOTHIC atmosphere with the 80´s ROCK simplicity.
In the beginning, the line-up was formed by Andre Cardoso (Guitar), Clecio Christian (Bass) and Alexandre Brito (Drums). After 2 years the line up changed, the band’s great friend and guitarist, Geffson, and Dora (keys and vocals) joined the band.
In this time the band released its following demo CDs, "OCTOBER OF..."(1998), "LIVE AT KALIMAR" (2000), in the same year the band signed a contract with Moonshadows, a Brazilian label, to record, release and distribute the official debut CD called "AFTER THE SUN HIDES"(2002).
In 2001, the band received an invitation to participate in a Brazilian tribute album to the greek band Rotting Christ called "AN EVIL EXISTENCE FOR..."(2004). Ravenland recorded a gothic version for the song "Among Two Storms" from the album Dead Poem, getting a great attention in the compilation because of the cover’s difference from the other extreme bands.
Between 2002 and 2003, the band had some problems with the label. They didn´t release the official debut album. Because of this problem and other reasons the band went on a break.
3 years later, Dewindson meets Camilla (the band’s new member that sings, plays violin and keyboards). They become lovers and after a few months they reactivate RAVENLAND, soon joined the band Albanes (guitars), Rick (drums) and John Cross (bass) and they released in September, 2006 the new single "BLACK EP" (2006) content the new song "Velvet Dreams" and one bonus track "Among Two Storms".
Recently the band began working in FUSÃO STUDIO, recording a new album with the producer Ricardo Confessori (ex-ANGRA and SHAMAN). He played the drums in the new album because Rick (drums) had some health problems. Rick was unable to follow the band because of his health condition.
The new album will bring the special guest Tommy Lindal (ex-THEATRE OF TRAGEDY) that will play guitar in one track.
The band is also participating in a Brazilian action movie called DM-X and there’ll be two songs included in the movie’s soundtrack.
