First of all, yeah, I'm with Rock Heavy Loud , a Portuguese Heavy-Metal webzine. You're all invited to pay us a visit and give us some feedback!
Now that you know this, how did it all came to be? Well, years ago, a northern Portuguese couple had an inspired night (or a freak accident!), hence I, their greatest disappointment was born!
When everybody was skating, surfing or biking, I was into the really radical stuff: reading, writing, drawing, painting, scale modelling (and biking and skating, I admit it)! That’s appeal for you: chicks loved it! Bloody hell, not that much, honestly. Ah but sex is a rollercoaster and I’m the operator, so there have been a lot of rides…
Fine, you’re not buying all this crap.
There just isn’t much I can say about myself that isn’t at least slightly humiliating. I’m atypical. Not humiliating, but interesting. Being a huge Heavy-Metal fan, I have the dubious honour of not looking like one, nor like the guy now trying to take a doctoral degree. It’s like being a little bastard in between, but it sure is fun to piss circles around prejudices.
I do love metal. Always did, even though I went grunge for a while (what in hell was I thinking?!). I was the guy with the big boombox filled with Iron Maiden, Metallica, Guns and Manowar making noise on every school trip. And all had started many years before thanks to a Dr. Feelgood tape my aunt had in her bedroom. Come teen years, and I was drawing horned warriors and warrior maidens, or writing epic tales of blood and guts and even earned a prize for it.
After a few years of being a quiet listener, I decided I should do a bit more. So I currently work (volunteer, though “work†is really sexier to brag about) with Rock Heavy Loud , a Portuguese metal webzine, like I stated earlier, where my functions cover reviewing promos (and stuff I buy with my hard earned money), translating news, and nagging the webmaster or irritating other contributors with what I think of their metal preferences. All in all, it is something I enjoy doing a whole lot. It has given me the chance to know about new bands and actually do something with the time I spend listening to metal. And I like to know my reviews may help people discover those bands too and enjoy them as much as I do.
Other than that, I guess I’m good at a lot of stuff, without being particularly good at anything. You’ll notice I sometimes try to draw… oh dear, the horror, the horror! I also write for fun and assemble plastic kits, which if you think about it is very masculine! Please… I'll pay you anything you want if you buy this one!
Oh well, screw this. Nobody’s reading anyway!
