DGM - NEW SINGER REVEALED.
DGM have just announced that Mark Basile (B.R.A.K.E. Official Web Site - MySpace , ex - Mind Key) is the new singer of the band. Mark was chosen among several auditions throughout Italy, Europe and America.
The band would like to thank all those who have sent their material for being so professional.
DGM are excited to work with Mark on the songs for the new album, which is expected soon. In the meantime, the new line up will play the following shows:
02/03/2008 Italian Gods Of Metal - Alcatraz (Milano)
29/03/2008 Heavy Naples Fest - Palapartenope - Fuorigrotta (NA)

DGM originally form in 1994 as an entirely instrumental band.
The original line-up features Diego Reali (guitar), Maurizio Pariotti (keyboards) and Gianfranco Tassella (drums), with the addition, one year later, of Marco Marchiori (bass). Soon the band’s live performances become very frequent, and worth mentioning is DGM’s appearance at the Rock Innovation Festival, where the band come 2nd out of 48 bands!
During this period the band start working on their first official release, the self-produced mini CD ‘ Random Access Zone ’, which features the superb voice of newly-recruited Luciano Regoli. Formerly in several Italian bands of the seventies (Raccomandata con Ricevuta di Ritorno, Ritratto di Dorian Gray, Samadhy), Luciano is able to bring his own personal style to DGM, mixing his "seventies mark" with the power vein of the band.

The mini CD receives a very positive response in the power-speed metal scene, therefore the guys decide to produce their first full-length album; in the summer of ‘97 the band complete ‘ Change Direction ’, which comes out in November of the same year.
The album receives great responses practically everywhere: in Italy, Germany, Finland, Denmark, etc. which prompts to start an Italian tour that keeps the guys busy during the first part of ‘98, with dates in Rome, Milan, Bologna, Reggio Emilia, Bergamo...
In September ‘98 DGM focus their attention on writing material for their follow-up album. It was in this period long-time partner Gianfranco decided to part company with the band; the split is pretty amicable, evidenced by Gianfranco collaborating with DGM as sound engineer, together with Daniele Conte for the recording sessions of the new album. New drummer Fabio Costantino (formerly with death metal band Carnal Rapthor), replaces Gianfranco.

DGM enter the studio once again in January ’99 where they will stay ‘til the end of February. On emerging, they take with them the sounds that will form their incredible second album, entitled ‘ Wings Of Time ’ (which makes it as top album on the Italian magazines “Metal Shock”, “Flash” and “Metal hammer”).
In Japan the CD sells over 4,000 copies in the first 10 days. The band is also contacted by BURRN! for an exclusive interview.

A few line-up changes were in the pipeline; in 2000 , after years of cooperation with DGM, Luciano Regoli and Marco Marchiori decide it’s time for them to leave the band.
Before their third studio album is released, Titta Tani joins the band, becoming the new DGM singer. ‘ Dreamland ’, an album that would obtain great success both in Italy and abroad and is widely considered to be the band's masterpiece, saw the light of day in December 2001.

Left without a bass player, in springtime 2001 the band starts looking out for a new bass player and in late 2001 Andrea Arcangeli (River of Change, Concept) becomes the new DGM member.
Many Italian live dates follow the release of 'Dreamland' with the refreshed line-up and an excellent response from the Italian guys (really fun time... see Pictures!!!). New splits were at the door again. Unfortunately, after nine long years of friendship, Maurizio Pariotti decides to leave the band for personal reasons (good luck Maury, we wish you the best).

And yet another separation in DGM's chequered history rears its head; this time, however, a positive one for the band: with this album DGM where finally free from the Elevate Records' 'hands of doom'. A few months later Scarlet Records take the Italian musicians under their wing, asking them to sign a contract and laying the foundations of a new album. But when a door closes, a new one opens up, with the new keyboard player Fabio Sanges (Abstracta) joining the band.

‘ Hidden Place ’ is released in May 2003 and it's destined to be another hot shot for the band, getting excellent reviews on all the magazines and web magazines from all over the world. Everyone seems to believe in Hidden place in the same measure DGM believed in it and thanks to them the band play several live shows both in Italy and abroad... and as a demonstration of the quality of the album, DGM take part in the Gods Of Metal 2003.

After a little break, in February 2004 DGM start the recording sessions of ‘ Misplaced ’ and mix it at "Outer Sound Studio" during the summer; the album is released in November of the same year and what people hear is a great example of Prog Power at its best coupled with catchy melodies, hard rock sound, power walls of pure metal and dreaming solos.
Like ‘Hidden place’, also ‘Misplaced’ has been considered by both the magazines and the audience a great album, and several live dates follow its release.
Unfortunately, one year after the release of ‘Misplaced’, something seems not to work anymore. Bringing surprise and sadness, guitar player Diego Reali decides to leave the band to follow other projects of his own. Diego has been and still is our best friend and a great guitar player, and we still spend several nights out together, even if not about DGM.

DGM fans should not worry though, as another guitar master is now among us: SIMONE MULARONI, simply a genius of the six strings, who naturally owns the peculiar DGM sound, which left us breathless and at loss for words (check his bio for more details).
Following Diego’s departure, keyboard player Fabio Sanges decides to leave DGM due to personal reasons, which the entire band understand very well... good luck Fabio!!!
This time DGM ask keyboard player EMANUELE CASALI to join the band. After few live shows EMANUELE became the new Keyboard player of DGM just before the writings sessions of the sixth album. With his great musical taste and influences, EMANUELE gave to the new songs a personal touch of class and the result of his experience is all in the new "Different Shapes".

With Simone and Emanuele on board, the band starts working on ‘ Different Shapes ’, DGM’s sixth studio album, which is released on June 4th, 2007 .
Already the media are claiming ‘Different Shapes’ to be the best work of DGM so far, with Rock Hard and Metal Hammer awarding it as TOP ALBUM. On the live front, DGM will play in front of the Italian audience at the Gods Of Metal on Sunday 3rd June.

After the 2008 edition of one of the biggest italian metal fest, DGM has been recruited for Lagoa Burning Festival in September 2007 and Prog Power Europe in October 2007 as a confirmation of the high quality of the work make on "Different Shape".

The Prog Power 2007 has been the last show plyed by Titta Tani as singer of DGM The band decides to continue their carrer with another singer due to characterial differeces with Titta.

In February 2007 DGM announced that Mark Basile (B.R.A.K.E. Official Web Site - MySpace , ex Mind Key) is the new singer of the band. Mark was chosen among several auditions throughout Italy, Europe and America. The band would like to thank all those who have sent their material for being so professional. DGM are excited to work with Mark on the songs for the new album, which is expected soon.
