NEW ALBUM "BACK TO THE ROOTS" OUT NOW

UNREST was founded in May 1988 in Bremen (Germany). During the first three years two demo productions were recorded and numerous gig were played in the northern German area. In 1991 the first album “Taste It“ was produced at the Delta-Studio Wilster (Schleswig-Holstein / Germany) which was released in 1992. 1994 the second album “ByThe Light Of The Moon“ was produced and was available at the shops in early 1995. First larger gigs with bands such as RAGE and SKYKLAD followed until in 1996 the first successful tour with ICED EARTH and NEVERMORE throughout Germany, Belgium and the Netherlands came up. Afterwards, the third CD “Watch Out“ was produced in Osterholz-Scharmbeck (Niedersachsen / Germany). After its release in 1997 came the UNREST / SCANNER tour which led all the way to Italy. In the same year tours with W.A.S.P. and SINNER followed. In 1998, right on time for the band`s 10th anniversary, the fourth record “Cold Steel Whisper“ was released and UNREST played at the WACKEN OPEN AIR FESTIVAL that same year. In 1999 the “Restless And Live“ recorded was produced. It was released in 2000 followed closely by “Bloody Voodoo Night“ which appeared in 2001. That same year UNREST toured the country with DIO and SINNER followed by a few concerts at several clubs in Germany until UNREST unfortunately was put into cold storage for about 3 years. In the beginning of the year 2004 al three founding members Sönke, Claus and Guido came together again just for kickstarting through anew with their two new band members André Neuhaus (bass) and Marco Liedtke (g.).Since that time new songs were written and several shows played just to announce their comeback impressively to the still existing fan community. Finally, in September 2006 the band signed their new record deal with Massacre-Records where the new album “Back To The Roots” was released on November 10th, 2006. This new album was presented with much success at several shows in Germany and abroad.

UNREST wurde im Mai 1988 in Bremen gegründet. In den ersten drei Jahren wurden zwei Demoproduktionen aufgenommen und zahlreiche Auftritte im norddeutschen Raum gespielt. 1991 ging es dann in`s Delta-Studio Wilster (Schleswig Holstein) um das erste Album “Taste It“ zu produzieren, das 1992 auf dem Markt erschien. 1994 wurde dann der zweite Longplayer “By The Light Of The Moon“ eingespielt, der dann Anfang 1995 in den Regalen stand. Es folgten erste größere Auftritte mit Bands wie RAGE und SKYKLAD, bis es dann 1996 zur ersten erfolgreichen Tournee mit ICED EARTH und NEVERMORE durch Deutschland, Belgien und den Niederlanden kam. Anschließend wurde in Osterholz-Scharmbeck (Niedersachsen) die dritte CD “Watch Out“ produziert. Nach deren Veröffentlichung folgte im Jahr 1997 die UNREST / SCANNER -Tour, die bis nach Italien führte. Im selben Jahr wurden dann noch Tourneen mit W.A.S.P. und gleich anschließend mit SINNER gefahren. 1998, pünktlich zum 10 -jährigen Bestehen der Band, kam dann der vierte Output “Cold Steel Whisper“ in die Läden und UNREST spielte im selben Jahr auf dem WACKEN OPEN AIR FESTIVAL. 1999 wurde die “Restless And Live“ Scheibe produziert die dann 2000, kurz gefolgt von der “Bloody Voodoo Night“ die 2001 in den Handel kam, veröffentlicht wurde. Im selben Jahr tourten UNREST mit DIO und SINNER durch die Lande. Danach folgten noch einige Konzerte bis UNREST dann für ca. 3 Jahre auf Eis gelegt wurde.Anfang 2004 fanden sich die drei Gründungsmitglieder Sönke, Claus und Guido wieder zusammen, um mit den beiden Neuzugängen Andre Neuhaus (Bass) und Marco Liedtke (Git.) wieder richtig durchzustarten. Seitdem wurden neue Songs geschrieben und einige Konzerte gespielt, um sich bei der immer noch vorhandenen Fangemeinde eindrucksvoll zurück zu melden. Im September 2006 wurde schließlich ein neuer Plattenvertrag bei Massacre-Records unterschrieben, wo das neue Album „Back To The Roots“ am 10.11.2006 erschienen ist. Dieses neue Album wurde dann mit großem Erfolg bei diversen Gigs im In-und Ausland live vorgestellt.
