This page is dedicated to Morton Schwartz. An almost forgotten B-Movie Actor,who appeard in numerous weird Euro-Exploitation movies,such as "Lazarus2000" or "Die Superspezialisten". Morton Schwartz, an american actor, appeard mostly in Euro-Exploitation movies, more often in C than in B-movies. He made his debut in the low-budget Horror-flick "Vampires,Inc." in 1963. By the late 60s, however, he could see the writing on the wall as his career was going nowhere. So he moved to Europe to work in the Italian Film Industry. Mostly in cheap spaghetti-westerns. "Django contro Dio" became a cult movie among students in 1968, but was banned and got lost. Only the german trailer did survive the years. In the 70s he starred in two german crime movies as the bad guy. In 1979 he played the schizophrenic preacher in the sequel to the classic Robert Mitchum-Film "Night of the Hunter" In the early 80s he made his succesful films "Lazarus2000", a post-apocalyptic doomsday picture, and "Invisible Men" a stylish giallo. Got married in 1982 to actress/model Francesca Rocca, who died several weeks later under mysterious circumstances. Morton Schwartz started heavy drinking and it was, as if he became a Phantom himself, like the character he used to play in his best films. During the shooting of the Indiana Jones Rip-Off "Amazonas Joe", he disapperad. That was in 1984.
