JULIANNA RAYE's "Restless Night" has received critical acclaim on a national scale from such established sources as NPR's Fresh Air, Billboard and Entertainment Weekly magazines. In addition it has garnered attention from the major indie publication the LA Weekly and defining public radio program, KCRW's "MORNING BECOMES ECLECTIC" for which she has performed at their annual "Unsigned Indies" event as well as appearing live for a full set on "Morning Becomes Eclectic" and "Sounds Eclectic." Touring opportunities spurred by this record include opening for such notables as DON HENLEY and STEVIE NICKS and as a member of RUFUS WAINWRIGHT's band on his final european tour for Want 2. She can also be heard on his latest cd "Release the Stars." "Restless Night" was produced by ETHAN JOHNS, who plays virtually all instruments on the recording. Ethan's recent successes include The Kings of Leon, Ray LaMontagne and RYAN ADAMS (Raye can be heard on a number of Adams' songs singing backup). All songs on the disc were composed by Raye with the exception of a co-write and duet with Rufus Wainwright and a co-write with MICHAEL KAMEN for the soundtrack of "Open Range." More recently Julianna co-wrote two songs with director ROD LURIE for his film "Resurrecting the Champ" starring Josh Hartnett and Samuel L. Jackson. Champ had it's world premiere at the 2007 SUNDANCE FILM FESTIVAL. Julianna's debut project was for Warner Brothers/Reprise. It too garnered a great deal of critical acclaim and was produced by JEFF LYNNE of Travelling Wilburys and ELO fame. Her newly completed CD, entitled DOMINOES is inspired by the sounds of bossa nova and is again produced by ETHAN JOHNS.
