Photography, using REAL cinema technology (35mm/HD anyone?), lighting for the aformentioned discipline, screenwriting, steadicam, camping, archery, music, parasailing, hang gliding, telekinetic performance art. I like to write and play on the guitar and the keyboard to relieve stress, interacting with people who are serious about living and not just wasting time and space. I used to be a summer camp counselor- I miss it. Sports, hiking, cooking, a bottle of GOOD Syrah or Merlot, things that go very very fast....ic (and not so classic) Ferraris, sitting on top of Mount Tam, looking out over the clouds.... predicting the course of world politics (which has become very easy due to current trends of cowardice, religious fervor, industrial imperialism, and most of the other ridiculous recurring headlines).
Sitting on the roof, THINKING, enjoying a sunset. People watching. (Does that qualify me as a voyeur? Probably.)
Have camera, will most definitely travel....
Model: M.C./Model Miss Tarah Lee/Los Angeles
Model: Actress Nina Kate/Venice, CA
I also wouldn't mind learning to dance better...
...and of course my favorite hobby, 'Pyrogami'...the art of folding paper into little objects and then LIGHTING THEM ON FIRE....
The 'big cheese'. The real deal. The one upstairs. The landlord of all landlords. God.
-and-
Friends who can connect on a personal level.
Visionaries. The artsy. Fellow camera nerds. I am about as UN-cookie cutter as it gets.
Somone who understands the value of personal commitments. Call when you say you will, show up on time, and say 'Gesundheit' when someone sneezes....
Those with the right state of mind, the self-actualized, movers and shakers, thinkers, do-ers, lookers, the transcended, the enlightened, the confused, the hilarious, models and muses who need to develop portfolios or just love to ham it up in front of a camera, other photogs who have gone beyond their autofocus and buit-in lightmeter :) Those with the wrong state of mind, the undyingly subversive, the enigmatic, the dreamers, the wishers, the perilously passionate, the hopelessly obsessed...Real people with a solid grip on reality. I know true blue when I see it. Max Von Sydow, Isabella Rossellini, Steven Spielberg, Claire Forlani, Albert Einstein, Heather Kozar, Sammy Hagar, Edward Van Halen, Truman Capote, Salvador Dali, Luis Bunuel, Jean Pierre Junet, Marc Caro, Helmut Newton, Ansel Adams, Anne Hathaway, Steve Jobs, Francios Truffaut, David Geffen, Colin Powell, Darius Khondji,....Mr. Frump, so I can see if his iron lung really makes that accordion sound when he breathes....
The self made, the self absorbed, showoffs, exhibitionists, humorists, motorists, fashionistas, philanthropists, entrepeneurs, the spicy, the bland, the sleep-deprived and well rested. Everyone who is anyone, and all in between. After all, what is the purpose of being here, really?

This 'friends list' was hacked out with tender loving care, and 40 still isn't enough.
It would be untrue if I said I listened to any one kind of music and shunned all others, however at the heart of this being beats an empathetic, hard-rocking, and powerful soul that has many sides, and each side has different tastes. One day I could be listening to ZZtop, Van Halen, Pink Floyd, Linda Lopez, Charlie Parker, Judas Priest, Bill Doggett, Jimi, Elton John, Marty Friedman, Tony MacAlpine, or the Ramones, the next Accept, Helloween, Coldplay, Metallica, Les Paul, or John Lennon, and the next, the Doobie Brothers, Chemical Brothers, Vinnie Moore, Alan Parsons Project (MUAHAAAHAAAHAAA..no really...) Velvet Underground, Missing Persons, Dream Theater, Enya, Kitaro, or Persechetti...or SILENCE. One thing is for sure, I am not a scenester, emo, or here to impress anyone. I like to party like no one else, and I hate pre-fab pleasure and opinion. To quote Popeye, 'I am what I am'. I have always been my own man, and I always will be. 'Clean shaven' or not.
Building the stage for 'Live 8' in Philly...
Out for a stroll on the 'Boulevard'...
City of Lost Children, ROAD WARRIOR!, Raiders of the lost Ark (really, any Spielberg), Aliens (really, Any Ridley Scott), Time Bandits (really, Any Terry Gilliam), 5th Element, Strange Brew, Casablanca, True Romance, Better Off Dead, Fight Club, ANY HITCHCOCK, The ROCK, Stargate, Un Chien Andalou, Bloot of a Poet, Man With a Movie Camera, Battleship Potemkin, Buffalo '66, La Jete'/ 12 Monkeys, Brazil, All three 'Lord of the Rings' films, First three Star wars, Castaway, Matrix, Schwarzenegger movies, Requiem for a Dream, Dog Soldiers, Stranger than Paradise, Mystery Train (Jim Jarmusch has a wondreful sense of the understated and the colorful) Original Rocky (Garrett Brown is a genius!), Silence of the Lambs (or anything by Johnathan Demme), Kevin Smith's work (most of it) Anything by Robert Rodriguez (Even Bedhead), Most David Lynch, 'Die Hard' Movies...Conan...Red Sonja ...oh yeah...I really dig the Full Moon projects...anyone seen 'Trancers'? Jack Deth rocks. Anything with Isabella Rossellini. Anything even remotely connected to Andy Warhol. I am a cinematographer, this list could go on for weeks....If the screenplay was good enough to get made, and achieve moderate box-office, then it is obviously good for SOMEONE. If I like it, it doesnt mean someone else will. If you dont, I really dont care. Get over yourself.
Heceta Head Lighthouse in Florence, Oregon. Taken November 2000.
If it interests me, I watch it. If not, I turn it off.
I am really diggin' "Medium". Numbers. All CSI's (except 'Miami'), 'Supernatural', and 'Cold Case'.Seinfeld (bring it BACK already willya, Larry?), The Office (BOTH series), Stargate (SG1 and Atlantis)... I really love cartoons too. South Park, Ren and Stimpy, Family Guy! ("I SAY!") There is a lot ot be said for early 1930's and 40's Tom and Jerry, Droopy Dog, and others of that time, also. They were funny to me as a kid, but NOW they are sidesplitting. So much more humor in there then we realized as children. Some of it not-so-clean.Can anyone tell me who sang that version of "Is You Is, or Is You Aint"? It sure as heck wasn't Cab Calloway...
From my reel: Allison Janney, on the set of the 'West Wing'...
Its the little red button at the top of the remote that turns perception back on, and restores clarity, priority, and purpose.
I kinda look like that 'Chiklis' guy here....
Anything from Focal Press, David Sedaris, Stephen King, Dean Koontz, Clive Barker, Pasternak, Graham Hancock, Manly P. Hall, Lovecraft, Robert Silverberg, Isaac Asimov, The Zagat List, Tobin's Spirit Guide, The Popul Vuh. ....zillions of others...
