Greetings- I’m Paul Harrison, 21st century psychadelic folk-blues merchant from the Lake District, plying my trade about the pubs, bars, folk clubs and music festivals of Cumbria and beyond armed with my guitar and trusty electronic FX. If, as I do, you hunger for explorations in music as an antidote to the endless bombardment from braindead corporate shite like the X-factor, I should imagine I’d like to be your friend.Had me a couple of support gigs for slightly famous folk- Po Girl, the unknown legend that is Wizz Jones, Gordon Giltrap, Preston Reed, as well as playing along side local leg-ends like Moz, Dave Vanstone, Dave Livingstone, Kirk Mcelhinney, Paddy Rogan, Jake Deakin, Bill lloyd, James Bentley, Jamie Barnes, Brian Evans and Dave ’hot from the oven’ Mcgovern, as he likes to be known.
Exciting developments in recent times included the formation of Mostly Acoustic Cumbria, an organisition for and run by the acoustic music scene in these parts. We put on gigs and events featuring artists profiled on MAC- check my top friends and also www.mostlyacousticcumbria.co.uk
In 2007 I became an endorsee of CORT guitars, cheers Roger!
Have run an open mic night down in the murky twilight shadows of Dickie Doodleshire in Kendal for seven point six million years now, give or take a millenium or twelve, (see Monday Jam in my top friends, site ably run by Jamie Barnes) and never tire of meeting and playing with new wierdos. Do come along and play, watch, listen and imbibe.
Got two cd’s out, How to Catch a Liquid Fish, new one called Clockwork Bulldozer and yet another album, Bioluminescence out really shortly.
