After SA chart-topping singles - 'Are u the one?' and 'For Life' - there's more on the way.Her most recent offering 'Feel It' is a sophisticated and funky track. Co-written by Jerusha and Dan Mar-Morinelo (Gareth Gates Sunshine) and produced by Workshy Productions in the UK, "Feel It" has a motown meets futuristic funk, which renders the listener hypnotized on the dance floor.
Now based in the USA Jerusha hopes to increase her fan basis and work with US producers. Jerusha has begun working with maestro music producer Boban Jankovic of Black Sheep Music Productions, Belgrade for her forthcoming second album due for release in February 2008.Jerusha has signed a publishing deal with one of the world's largest independent music publishers peermusic, after being scouted by Kate Thompson, general manager of peermusic in South Africa.Shes also proven to be as hot on stage as on the screen and airwaves. Her stage career started with Cape Town based R&B girl band "Essential". Since her solo career kicked off in 2003, she has co-billed with the likes of Ja-Rule, Kelly Rowlands, Ludacris,Trina, Kindred, Danny K, Jae, Afro Z etc. She was one of two South African Acts chosen by MTV for the roadshow to promote the prestigious Nelson Mandela 46664 Concert in 2004 to raise awareness about HIV/AIDS, a world health issue that is close to her heart. She has also done various performances for charity community festivals in Kwazulu-Natal. In late 2005, Jerusha performed in London in the SA Solidarity Festival in benefit of the Nelson Mandela Childrens Fund. In May 2006, supported by her band and backing vocalists from the Oxford gospel choir, Jerusha was one of the headline acts at the World Fair Trade Fashion Show held in Oxford; hosted by the Ethical Fashion Forum and UNICEF. In 2006 she was asked to perform as a guest vocalist in the Oxford Gospel Choir Summer Concert adn the Cowley Road Carnical and in 2007, she was asked to perform at the OX4 87.9FM Music Extravaganza in Oxford, UK.Aside from being a talented musician, Jerusha also happens to be a practicing medical doctor. In 2004 she spent three months working as a military doctor in strife-torn Liberia as a member of the United Nations humanitarian effort there. In 2005 she was chosen by Love Life (South Africas largest HIV/AIDS Awareness Youth Organisation) as a role-model for South Africas youth and featured as an icon in the Get Attitude campaign. In 2007 she was invited by TV producer Saira Essa to guest present for the South African TV magazine programme Eastern Mosaic at the International Indian Film Academy Awards held in Sheffield, UK. She was recently invited by NB Records (the label of SA artists Jae, Lungi, Evet, Incha) to be part of the Lillet's Exceptional Woman Campaign 2008.Jerusha is an incredibly talented South African role model and has had extensive media coverage locally and internationally having headlined the Sunday Times Extra and the Tribune Herald many times, the Tonight, and appearing on the front covers of the Foschini Magazine, and SAMRO Notes, as well as having had main feature articles in YOU Magazine, GQ, FHM, Marie-Claire, Drum, Huisgenoot, Roots, Top Billing, Cosmopolitan, SA India, Scamto Print, the Oxford Daily Mail, TNT Magazine etc. She has been interviewed on popular TV shows Felicia, Top Billing, Eastern Mosaic, ETV Night Life, ETV Morning Edition, ETV News, Backstage, as well as the very first Coca-Cola Popstars where she made it to the finals and secured a platform from which to launch her massive debut single "Are u the one?".
