Fred Morrison Band

Jesus Jonny!

About Me

In the spring of 2006 Fred Morrison, one of the worlds most legendary pipers, decided to call on the tallents of Paul Jennings (Drums, Percussion), Duncan Lyall (Bass), Douglas Millar (Piano and Keyboards) and Innes Watson (Guitar) to form a new band playing his music in a new, exciting and forward-thinking way. The Fred Morrison Band are taking a new approach to arranging traditional music. With the use of intricate riffs and rhythms from Duncan, Innes, Douglas and Paul. Fred provides the melodic identity of the band with some of his finest compositions yet on uillean and highland pipes as well as low whistles. One of Freds prominent features in the band is his amazing ability to solo on his instruments. The band will be working hard in the rehearsal studio for the next 2 months working on music for the first Fred Morrison Band album. Stay tuned as you will be hearing alot more from this new Scottish band. ...................................................“Morris on’s formidably virtuosic playing on bellows-blown Border pipes – with some dexterous interludes on uillean pipes – comes as close to jazz as you’ll hear in piping.” Jim Gilchrist, The Scotsman
